Which pushes all the lower end teams including us down a bit

Just make this our fixture list for next season and we'll shoot back up :). You get a lot more ranking points if they're rated higher than you.

yeh, it's quiet a weird way to put new nations in the rank in my opinion but there is not much to do about it, indeed playing them can be a good solution to gain back position
