I don't see it. Maybe I'm underrating Bolivia but i didn't like how Salas and Ugarteche got past Sanabria and Donegan. I'm not convinced Donegan is up to the task anymore. I'd really like Steven Dean back but his form isnt quite high enough.
At some point, likely the end of the season we'll be switching database to Manda Chuva's NTDB. There wasn't enough reason before but he's added a lot of improvements and now we have 2 national teams it makes sense to leave the Freehostia site.

working off excel is a pain. dunno how u manage updating everything mate! would make a lot more sense to have an excel based one online or something...
plus submitting players be a lot easier for users rather than getting pm's every so often. i mean U21's can improve every 2nd week at the moment like..
as has been said on intl forum teams will be way stronger twoards the end of the season

An Excel form online would take twice as long and it's not as accessable. I like the current system as i can just export a lot of players from the Freehostia site and with a little work right into the Excel database. I'm used to it by now anyway and it doesnt take me long to sort out. We do need that offline backup though, any problems with the site and we're screwed. It also helps to have it as it's quicker to add players in Excel than online.
Submitting players is quite simple really and doesnt require mails. All you need is Firesokker or one of those programmes, you click the flag and the player get sent straight to the online database.

I have a qualification in Microsoft packages but it's been years since i used Access and I've largely forgotten. I was never a big fan of it in the first place, it's clunky and not as easy to manage.
yeah. thats what i thought. was in pfizer n we used it for stuff though and it was unreal handy + u can share it online easy (or so it seemed-maybe it was just over network) but it was passworded and stuff.. much handier than excel for multiple users is all..
gmail have an excel filesharing thing that i hafnt looked much into but if it works as it suggests might be handy for the U21 db also. was talking to welchy about it..

its called Google Docs, its pretty useful for sharing excel sheets and other docs.
Still i think Mandachuvas stuff is better for NT DB.

I've just updated Sanabria and Fitzgibbon on the NTDB, pace pops for both of them :) I'm guessing that allied to their form make them certain starters for tomorrow? Sanabria is finally turning into the winger we've always wanted.
Thanks for the update. I wont be using any wingers tomorrow though as we haven't got anyone good enough to get past the Spanish defense. I'm going to sit back with six defenders, 3 defensive mids and try to steal a draw, which would be a fantastic result.
Good idea! ;-)
I always like to watch Sanabria, he's kinda my favourite player, but you're right, there's no point in using him, the Spanish defense is just too good.
Better sit back and try to defend 1 point!
Good luck tomorrow, guess I'll watch the match live!

best of luck with it anyways mate. some nail biting stuff when ur trying to steal a draw :)
Spain was just too good ... there was no chance to stop their offensive power ... :-(
i agree, covering the flanks would be good, but then the players would be missing elsewhere...i think the 4 goal difference is ok and allows to still compete in the goal difference.
Sanabria was quite good on the wing.
