It's going to be very difficult. Realistically we'd have to take 4 points from whoever comes 3rd because of the goal difference they will rack up.

3rd spot is always hoping for some luck when it comes to the teams. The good thing is that Slovensko isnt much better than Ireland (they had a great coach though) and Argentina has been underachieving for seasons.

underachieveing isnt a good thing though. they cud have an epic season all of a sudden...

Seems like their new coach (I guess the Primera Div dude will win) is tactically better than the current one. Which is a bummer. But with some luck it could be possible.

The time for me to say goodbye :) Not only from Ireland, but probably from any NT besides Belgium (if there really isnt a single decent candidate) and maybe Poland (trying to be the first foreign one there).

Think I'm pretty satisfied with the achievements I made. Ireland is on position 37 in the NT ranking, which is more or less where it belongs. With form and injuries and suspensions all in ideal situations, around rank 30 could be possible. Oh well, got knocked out in quarter finals of the Mini World Cup by France, which isnt a shame. 3rd spot in the EOS tournament though 2nd could have been possible with a bit of luck (like against Denmark). Add the results agains Hrvatska, England, Nederland and it was a great season. Only had 2 hammerings against Nippon and Scotland.

To end maybe a couple of remarks. Ireland's defenders and strikers are very decent to great. GKs and Mids are another issue though. I really hope players like Hobbock and Carew will get some defender training or in a couple of seasons, the NT will start losing games because of the lack of recuperation on the midfield.
Oh and I'll probably keep this forum added to rant a bit about the performances by Wolverine ^^ (if he gives me reason to :p)

nin was training up a few mids there this season.. maybe a few more will make their way through the system some stage. mids are generally an issue for us due to lack of decent trainees

Okay this is how we'll play against Slovensko. They expect us to use Holt on the wing so he'll play as a playmaker, nobody on the wing so their wingbacks will be useless ahaha !

mids need to be spread better.. diamond mid never works imo.

only if the '9' in this tactic is epic, but I agree: mostly this doesnt work.

You need a specific type of player to make it work and it has to be the right formation to go with, but it is a workable formation and actually very effective at gaining control of the midfield.
