that's the beauty of this game, you just have to anticipate and take the risk...but against teams with good passers its better to cover the lines, but i think its a job for the midfielder to come back and cover that, DEFs I agree, must stay within the box.

this game was dominated by defenses and Ireland had more chances to win it but it ended in a draw. its a pity.

Also i think Caffrey had an edge over other attackers dues to his speed. the dark side of this was that he was coming back a long way to the help the midfielders and then was missing up front...

I thought that wasn't supposed to happen anymore? Cully didn't perform at all and i was glad to take him off.
I think that was a game where the players who had been letting us down recently put in decent performances, mainly Crossley and Reidy. Cant complain about the result but a win would have been a huge boost.

I must agree on Cully, he had a bad day today.
I also agree that i too was disappointed to see both shots from silly angles and fwds coming all the way back to middle of the pitch. I thoought this was to be fixed...

I think a win would be sweeter but it's not likely. On the other hand they lost to Norway and we should have beaten them.

Looking at the group i think we'll need 16 points to get through it. That means 12 from the games against Greece and Malta and 4 from elsewhere. We got 1 today, we've now got to get 3 points from

Australia (A)
Lithuania (H)/(A)
Norway (A)

You can see why i was so disappointed to let a win go today. I think it would have meant 1 point from those 3 games instead of 3.
The way this group has played out hasn't done us many favours, losing to Australia was bad, Norway beating Lithuania was a disaster.If Australia pick up any points from their games against the other two then that'll mean we'll definitely have to beat them in the last game and even then it might not be enough. Avoiding defeat against Lithunia could be huge if they slip up again.

I'm doing a big overhaul of the database i set up at the start of next season. It would be very helpful if i could get as many good players as possible into the online database before i export it onto my harddrive and sort it all out, say by about Wednesday.
Oh and if you have any trouble with players not meeting the requirements, contact me, i'll sort it out.

Just caught my eye that we have 5 players listed as injured, most of them are only minor but losing Jerry Deane for Lithuania i could have done without.

Right i'm after 4 scouts for a secret mission. It'll take you about 5-10 minutes each Wednesday and Sunday.
