Subject: Ireland Vs...

Someone clear up the conditional "Red card or no player" order for me because i'm not certain i get it.

If i set that order for all 4 of my defenders and one gets sent off, how can a substitute then come on in his place? Obviously he cant replace that player if he's been sent off so does another player get taken off (A mid) in return for the sub defender to come on?
The second part is the "No player" condition. How exactly can there be No player in a position? I understand that once you've used your subs and pick up an injury then you're lacking a player but then what use is a sub order when you've not got any left.
I cant find any explanation in the rules.

I'll use the example of Lestina against New Zealand a couple of weeks ago. He got sent off and cost us a victory. Now if i had the conditional order set for him, what would have happened? A direct substitution isnt allowed.

you set it to minute 1.
then you choose a best defening player who is NOT in your defense line to
substitute 2
substitute 3
substitute 4
substitute 5

typically i use an OffMID or one of the wingers with best defending.
as for defMID i dont use them as they are missing a lot, in the opposite, if i play 3 defenders nad defMID i set the condition for the defMID as well.

hope its clearer now :)

Nope it isnt. I do that anyway but only because i read that everyone else has. What i dont get is what it does.

if a player on position 2, 3, 4, 5 (defense line) is
a/ sent off
b/ injured and leaves the pitch

the condition is TRUE and therefore a player you set leaves his position for the position that would be empty.

The player you set though is a substitute though so

a) You cant put on a sub for a player with a red card

b) If they leave the pitch and an empty space, a sub cant come on because they will have already been used up.

the sub for this condition has to be one of your starting 11

Thats what i suspected. It's stupid though because

1) It's not mentioned anywhere in the game
2) Players in your team are greyed out for setting conditional orders.

yeah took me while to figure it out too :)

Ouch! The Ireland numbers just took a massive fall. From 71 down to 55

Bleh, i just realised all the dates on the Ireland team page are wrong.

I've just been going through my set of tactic, updating and various things and i came across my old 3-5-2 with the 1 defensive mid. Good lord it was bad! You guys should have ripped it apart.
I think we now have 7 set tactics, 4 of which are pretty solid and 3 that need more testing. I'm relying on the 4-4-2 at the moment because it works so well. I dont think we've ever been outplayed while using it.

We have 8 tactics and i have an 9th in mind. 4 are pretty much complete, 2 need further testing and 2 need a lot more work. I want to have them all sorted by the time qualification comes round next season.

I set the red card order as you described and i still get it greyed out. I dont think it is supposed to be one of your starting 11.

Jirka is right Nin.
I have used this several times, especially for the Mid defenders or if U have a single striker, if one of them is out, it´s a disaster...
Try it in your own club first if U arn´t sure... good luck!

It really shouldnt be greyed out then. :@

The 7 tactical spots really arent enough anymore. You need 3-5 to cover any defensive sending offs, 3-5 to cover any injuries and 3 for other substitutions. If we pick up any minor injuries to our defenders against Nigeria then we're screwed.
