Subject: Ireland Vs...

The throwins were strangely off and didnt look like my normal setup, thats another thing i'll have to look at.

At the moment none of our strikers have been finding the net. Was pretty impressed with Matthews' pace, caused our defense some trouble on a few occasions. Good luck in the Copa America.

Matthews is out for next week. Now we're f**ked ;)

We may take a week off this Saturday. We're getting close to where we want to be in the rankings and i'm not at all keen on playing a difficult game and dropping down again. If the right team doesnt come up i'd rather take a break. Invitations have been sent out to 14 nations and the only one i'd consider a test would be Portugal, first team to accept is the one we end up with.

Ok now i know the transfer market is screwed. How much do you reckon this guy is worth? By the way his talent is completely unknown, he's played one game and rated 30 in it.

age: 18
value: 88 750 €, wage: 1 375 €
weak form, tragic tactical discipline

weak stamina, tragic keeper
solid pace, adequate defender
average technique, good playmaker
solid passing, solid striker

Statistics:
Official matches: 1
Goals in official matches: 1
Assists in official matches: 1

He went for 1,153,000

I'm seriously considering selling off my entire squad at this moment. Prices are ridiculously high, i'm likely to be relegated and i'm not going to have much time next season anyway. Its also week 7 so everyone gets a 5-0 walkover.
Thoughts anyone?

you're right - now is the best moment to get some money - sell weak players, and wait 2-3 weeks - after that time prices will drop down, and You will have nice profits:)

What i'm thinking of doing is turning to stamina training to keep afloat. I'm going to buy any decent players with crap stamina and train it the entire season. I'd rather put my money into the youth squad anyway to be honest.
2007-08-20 22:42:00
It's that he's so rounded already made him worth so much. If you imagine what 5 seasons training could make him it makes him well worth it.

I would start selling if I were you- transfer income drops fast after 26 and a lot of your players are getting on. In the long term I wouldn't buy new trainees - it's much more economical to get them from your youth team. Even if you aren't logging in much a basic training setup (eg pace) on a load of young players would set you up nicely for when you were able to spend more time on it again.

i training stamina only in the between seasons. in other weeks is more profitable to training youth.

last season i changed my point of view on making optimal profits... now i traning only one formation (ATT) - only 6 players, but they are worth a lot - if player is better, his price is growing much faster.
2007-08-20 22:44:03
Or what you said while I was typing :)
2007-08-20 23:07:38
I figure i can train stamina for 30 players upwards, once they reach formidable i'll sell them and bring new ones in. To properly train youths i'd have to buy them first and this is not a buyers market at the moment. Better to bring in a load of players under 100k and sell them for 150-200k 4 weeks later.
* Does maths *
50k every 4 weeks = 12k every week for each player and you can see how it'd work. Plus i can get rid of my assistant coaches and i dont even need a decent main coach, as long as they have unearthly stamina. I think i'll put them all up for sale tomorrow.
2007-08-20 23:13:13
What you were saying about that guy is true but he's a complete unknown. He could have a talent around 7 weeks seeing as he came from a new club. Thing is 7 weeks ago the most he would have cost you is 600k and i was quite prepared to pay that but he's ended up going for twice that. He's actually gone for more then Tilbrant.
2007-08-20 23:36:00
I wouldn't be a huge fan of stamina training as a plan- pace to me would make more money and you wouldn't have to sell on any irish trainees you have (or get).
2007-08-21 00:00:07
My only problem with that is it's slow to train and i'd have to set two games a week. I'd also have to keep track of talent and when theyre about to pop.
Stamina would be easier and it also means i dont have to set a team. I'm thinking of giving away walkovers til this time next season. Any trainees are going to be sold on anyway and i'll look to start rebuilding when my magical guy comes in at week 7 next season. For me the most interesting thing in all of this is i can try and pick up the best youth coach possible now and give the Ireland team an absolute star.

Whats the reason for the big increases in buying prices at the moment
2007-08-21 00:06:04
I can only imagine it's a surplus of money that people have saved up for when it's clear theyre either going down or possibly going up.
