By my guess we're now ranked 31st and have almost 1700 points. Providing we dont collapse in the last 4 games we really should have a 3rd seed place tied up now.

Knowing our luck we'll end up drawing Australia out of the 4th group, although on their current form that might not be so terrible.
There is still the potential for it to go badly wrong though. Picking someone like Turkey out of the 5th group would be disastrous.

Very good performance tonight, maybe the best ive ever seen from Irish squad. Thumbs us ! I think the aggresive 4DEF line was the trick, the offside trap worked and with defenders up the midfield was very "thick" making it very difficult for Argentina to utilise their offensive power.

It was a fairly solid tactic that worked suprisingly well. Argentina did a very good job of marking us for the most part but i think they made one critical mistake in playing a 3-man defence. If theyd set out 4 i'm almost certain they would have won.

I was suprised with what i think was low PM of their defenders. They cleared many ball for thowins where they could just send it over up front. They were lucky with their marking positions, but still i though too many throwins.

It should be said that Terry was clinical with second goal and they were out of luck in one of two chances....but thats sokker (and RL soccer as well).

I'm watching the game again now. Their strikers failed them but also, professional foul in the 70th minute. Matthews was clean through and got hacked down. The defender only got a yellow :|

Just a question. How the hell are these ratings calculated?

I think this is the lowest rating we've had all season.

i think all players who participate on given category are included...therefor one shot from a midfielder means his striking skill is included in the equation.

what i mean is that today some defenders participated in passing average and some midfielders included in the striking average.

actually I've got a ton of players to update. going to do a load of stamina training soon and hopefully a few of the younger ones will start to be more use

Yeah there were maybe 20 youngsters at the start of the season who had potential to be in the squad but they need updating. I'll probably do an update before i hand the database over.

Thanks for the updates as well, Docherty in particular should be hugely useful now that one weakness has been sorted out.

yeah hes starting to get there. will see what to give him next, hes been my best trainer for a few seasons now
