yeah hes starting to get there. will see what to give him next, hes been my best trainer for a few seasons now

I think he's pretty much our best defender now. I'm just a bit puzzled by the last rating i saw from him. I think it was 37

44 tonight. Thats a bit better but unless i've missed something he should be higher. Maybe its just form

A thought just popped into my head as i was updating our youth database.
When the devs actually get round to creating the U-21 setup, maybe we should use the U-21 as a training stage for future NT managers. All managers of the NT have to have spent a season as U-21 manager and understudy to the national manager.
Speaking from experience it was about a season before i really started to get to grips with things tactically as Ireland manager. With this system we wont go into another season without an Irish manager who isnt quite ready.
Any thoughts?

Its actually update day (or week) today as its been 3 months since the last. I'll draw up a list of players i'm after sometime this week but for now, if you've got a decent prospect, particularly 21 or under can you either mail them to me or update them on the database? If you've sent me the player in the last month, no need.

In squad news

Shane Berrigan is out
Derek Macginnis is in
Stephen Thornton is out
Jeremy Tillbrant is in
Kevin Foxton is in

I think there are a few others who have been outgrown by the juniors as well but i'll wait until the update for them.
I'm aware the new manager could change all this around. I've left the player stats in the database incase they want to.

marks are not too important. they depend on how much a player gets into the game and what players he in action with. i have a defender in my club with great defending and pace, but low PM and tech and his rating are ridiculously low, but he is much better a defender than another player with VG def, PM and passing who's marks are always over 40.

Im sure you have had a game where you goalie didnt have to touch the ball which results in a rating of 1 for the keeper...what an unfair approach !

have been training him since he was 17 so well happy with him though his ratings have always been consistently low

might try and give him a couple of levels of passing at some stage. my training has been fairly based around him in recent times but have younger players coming through now again so will have to see

I dont really see any reason for him to be that consistently low though. I think he now beats Hanrahan in every department.

must be the way i play my centre backs i guess. strange alright - im sure itll get better as his technique continues to level up

I sent out about 12 invites this week but none of the teams wanted to play us. What we're left with now is either Lietuva or Hong Kong. I've invited Hong Kong. In terms of ranking points i think it's a better idea to consolidate our positon rather than risk losing it. I'd rather taken an almost certain 10 points in the rankings than gamble 20-30 for a 50 point gain.

It's only just struck me how good a result it was against Argentina. They've beaten England, Norway, Canada, Belarus, Germany, Netherlands and Mexico this season. The only team aside from us to beat them was Poland.

A wild guess... U won´t play this weekend at all ;D
2007-10-03 20:04:03
We arranged a game against Hong Kong about an hour before your "wild guess".
2007-10-03 20:12:58
Well... good luck then :D
2007-10-03 20:15:23
i think we should play stronger teams than honk kong
2007-10-03 20:18:10
I think so too but none of them wanted to play us. I'd rather play Hong Kong than Lietuva though. If you disagree i'd like to know why :)

agree;p
