Subject: Ireland Vs...

15 place... i think that it is too difficult. but 20 is possible i think.

all depends, what we will decide to play next season. with better teams, from 10-20place, to get more points, but also risk a lot, or get teams from 20-30, and slowly get points with small risk. for me best would be organize some games with both of that categories.

15th i think is as high as we can go. I absolutely believe we can do it though. I think we're quite capable of beating any team outside the top 10. We beat Argentina with 60% of our midfield missing and drew with Columbia in an even worse position.

right, but i'm not so optimistic guy as you;)

but the most important is to get above 22 position. we have 11 eliminations groups, so if we made it, we will be at second position in group after the draw.

13 world cup groups, so 26 or above. That is definitely possible.
2008-01-12 23:24:06
that is the only option;) any other result will be a defeat...

My goodness :) Welchy is right, i fielded James Hughes 24 ATT, instead of Jason Hughes 21 MID. o_O :) Sorry mate.

Shane what do you mean by a bit too static ? How would i make it more dynamic ?

As for Joe Phelan, i thought his technique is a major concern, he stood no chance against Welsch reserves and doesnt have the pace to make it up anyway. Therefore i deduce his high ranking is due to his high scoring, very much like Sam Cashin.

So I agree he might be useful in certain situations.

Jusy my opinion ;) but I feel when you play 5 in midfield to make the most of it. Playing 3 DMs to have two act as auxiliary full backs would be one option. The way you set up I would have moved about the front 3 Mids a lot more to swamp the midfield around the ball a bit more (a la Cormosia). It didn't make too much of a difference yesterday in the end so it's not a biggie.

i see, its a swamping vs. streching thing then. I depended upon Foxton and Colbert fully to do the swamping...

Thats it- :) - like I said it worked out fine yesterday :)

The only thing that caught my eye was the back 3. If you're going to play them, they have to be closer. You could have drove a bus through the gaps in our defence yesterday. They ran through a few times when our defenders would have easily dealt with them, had they been tighter.

Dont you know welsh buses need a three-lane street to run?

:) i know, i wanted to cover the the wings a bit since we didn't have any other defensive wingers even in the midfield

Crazy game.. Ireland deserved a goal today.
2008-01-19 12:35:21
I agree, if Matthews had just one more level of pace I reckon we could have got those few goals. Thetr wasn't much that could be done against those Belgian strikers though :)

Indeed. Our finishing was great today..about time ^^
I chose to test some features in defence. Played very high. It caused soem troubles your winger.
