Subject: Ireland Vs...
Congratulations to Sweden. As usual, we have dominated the match, had more shot, more possession and spent more time on opponents' half. But their strikers pace and tech were 3-4 points better than ours and that decided the match.
That pretty much sums it up. Because both teams played a narrow formation it was a bit of a pinball game in the end with strikers deciding the result.
If fat arse Keenan is back as an option we really need better strikers ;)

The only difference in the teams i saw was in the defence. Theirs was fairly well setup, ours wasn't. Walsh shouldn't have been playing. He doesn't have anywhere near the pace needed and the Swedish forwards exposed him for that.
As for Walsh, with Hanrahan out, he was the only option. I agree he was the weakest link...

I'll take your word on that one; the ball was bouncing around the midfield so much I started getting a headache :)
A rather funny match with so simmilar tactic used. Our strikers is perhaps our strongest part of the team, and our defenders are okay as well. Swedens main lacking is the midfield. We've got many young players that will hopefully be ready for the World Cup. that's allso why we played a rather narrow tactic today, so that you guys wouldnt dominate the mid too much.
There will be several new faces today as well as a very new tactics :)
Newcomers include:
Graham Treace
Jason Hughes (the right J.Hughes this time:)
Conor Creedon
Anthony Sanabria
and
Ben Abbott will make his debute on bench

i am still looking for an opponent for this game, but what do you guys think about U18 ?
Do you have some juvenile power to show off with ?

i think that there is no sence to play u18. look on todays game - our u21 isnt great, so why we should play younger team?:)
I found it very entertaining watching a couple of unconventional tactics face-off in this match.
Some weird decision making by some of the Ireland players - couldn't believe the back pass Curley made in the first half when he had an empty goal in front of him. But he did manage to keep his scoring streak alive. :)

I think there was no sense in playing U-21. It's not worth the injury risk to players that are still being trained. Fitzgibbon is now out for nearly 4 weeks and we've gained nothing.
Good to get the win today; because young players aren't going to have huge pm/passing the offside trap could have stumped us :) With that in mind I thought it was a promising team you put out. The injury to Fitzgibbon was unfortunate, at least the bulk of it is in the off season.

dont even mention it, i actually doubted myself after that and thought i set a MID order for him :).
Anyway i like the Ux games to give the younger players a chance and motivate their managers to train them well.
PS> Sorry for Fitz :(
