Subject: Ireland Vs...
There was advice from Geg and Raul and Nins eye for detail is uncanny sometimes so I can"t take all the credit for the tactics. Unfortunately, however well it was set up we still lost and won"t be qualifing this season so it goes down as a failure.
I think we need one or two "superstars" to be able to take on stronger nations like Argentina. Up fron is where we need something most as Matthews has gone fom being our best player to at best a journeyman level trier in the space of a few seasons. Hopefully your guy Curley will help solve that problem for next time round :)

It would have helped a lot to have Dean available but as normal there are always key players missing for the entire season.
As far as strikers, we had a really great one coming through in Phil Berrigan and then his owner left the game. I know there are others coming up but i cant name them at the moment. Last impression i got from Curley was that he doesnt have the striking yet. I dont know how Kevin Stapleton is coming along.

Your impressions of Curely are correct. He'll be working on striker again at the start of next season. I'm projecting Curley will be brilliant-magical-brilliant in the 3 striker primaries by the next round of qualifying. Not a superstar, but serviceable. He'll be 24 then - long term I don't think he's going to reach the unearthly-unearthly-unearthly level that is pretty much standard amoung top 20-25 Sokker nations. :/
Doesnt matter, we've always had to make do with being the underdogs and it forces us to try and outthink the opposition instead as seen yesterday. He might not get to unearthly but give him space in the box and he'll do.
Ireland 1 Israel 2
Terrible game for us, I lost count of the number of offsides we had which meant we couldn't keep possession or make any chances. Israel showed as well why their ratings are as good as ours with a neat display. Definitely a case of things ending with a whimper :)

same for us - 3-3 with mexico, but we played with u23. 2nd place in group then.
Looks like there are going to be some very interesting groups at the WC :)
yep thats right:)
anyway i'm happy from our games in eliminations. i wanted to make some emotions - and we had it till last minut in last game(in 90' we have chance for 4-3)...

I think you made quite a lot of people emotional this season ;)
Does that mean you're now down to 3rd in the rankings? ;)
Bleh, Do we really need yet another forum (see NT Ireland)? A NT forum is useful but my problem is it takes away posts from the main board everyone reads.
It's not a closed forum either so there's no real point in moving over.
for countries like ireland not, but largest have a problem with NT forum. in poland we had NT forum for long time, but it wasnt oficial.

I know, it's pointless. We could use the association thread but it's for Plus users only. Might as well just keep everything where it is.
