Subject: Ireland Vs...
I know, it's pointless. We could use the association thread but it's for Plus users only. Might as well just keep everything where it is.
Good try against Israel. I thought both teams had a nice approach to the match. Ireland's defense only surrendered a handful of chances, but they were all pretty good quality.
Matthew's had a bad miss in 69 that could have made the difference. Curley didn't play as well as I expected - thought he'd be able to break a few more tackles. Offsides hurt.
You did well this season. :) This was a very tough group.

Ireland Association should be open to all Irish users, plus or not.
Scotland certainly has non plus users who are members.

You have to be accepted :)
NT managers have been set as "Founders" so shaneteam will have to accept your application.
That's how it's working in Scotland anyway.

Something has just occurred to me while i'm going through the database. I was looking for Joe Phelan (should have taken over from Matthews) and i found that he's now gone due to the changes being made for clubs into higher positions. Potentially this offers us a way of reclaiming players we would otherwise lose if we track them. It also means we'll lose players at a far quicker rate if we dont.
Good match today against Shqipëria. They are better then their ranking indicates - easy to under-estimate them.
Really liked Dean's game. Shame his form was so poor this past season. Think he could have really added something to the qualification effort. :/

I'll move this conversation in here instead of the election thread.
As far as the youth team and our system goes, i dont think there's much more than can be done. The lack of quality in Division 1 means less money to invest in the youth squad and players. StevenDiamond has done a great job of setting up his youths but there's only so much you can do. Even in the top league, Shane and I are getting hammered on the financial updates because of our coaching bills.
In general we've just had no luck with players but i think there maybe only a handful of clubs who can pull great juniors and then afford to train them as well. From there, there are 2 options. You can have possibly great players getting adequate training or they get sold to lower league foreign clubs who dont train them properly.
We just have to keep going really, trying to improve the strength of the league and making sure clubs are setup as best they can. Kenyard is a good example of that, although they've maybe stretched a little too far financially but it would only take 1 player to secure them.

Agree, even if I don't know if you improved it the last season.
Most youth pulls I see here are rather disappointed, since I've been in this forum I may have seen 2 or 3 juniors who have the potential to be future topstars ...
Of course there's much luck in this game whether you pull a junior with minimum or maximum age or whether if you pull him with a good or bad skill distribution. However, the smaller the community, the fewer good players you get, and the more you're depending on luck.

I disagree here. If you pull a really good junior, then you can be pretty sure he gets training, doesn't matter who's buying him. You're right, the weaker the teams are which are buying this junior, the bigger the possibility that they have weak coaches ...
I'm looking for an Irish Mid for more than two seasons now, but I didn't find one so far. Or I bought Dean at the age of 23 and gave him almost two seasons of training which he most likely wouldn't have had if another team had bought him.
But there was not really a perfect junior I could buy ... :-(
Anyway, the only thing you can do is have a youthcoach who's as good as possible, then all is about luck. If you're lucky you'll get some nice pulls, if not you can't do much more ...
It's also important that everybody knows how talented a player is! Even a young player who doesn't look that good will improve so fast if he's talented! It's maybe one thing that could be improved in tracking the youths, adding the talent ...
But I guess not many know the talent of their players ...
Money is no problem in my case

I'm pretty happy with my youth school. I seem to get one NT level player a season and atm have 2 players in Caffrey and Sanabria who will be gems. Often I think people underestimate how good young talented players can get with 5 or 6 seasons of training, even if their initial skills aren't great.
I've had the same problem buying Irish mids. The good ones dont come along very often and even then they have to fit into the current training system.
What i meant about training is that not many clubs have coaches that will maximise it. There are plenty of clubs who might have Unearthly playmaking trainer but how many are going to have a coach with Unearthly pace, technique, passing, playmaking and in some cases defending. It's not just about training 1 skill. Thats the reason Shane rules Ireland, he gets a lot of pops from secondary training. It's only in the last couple of seasons i worked out how important secondary training and the assistants are.
In others new, i've spoken to Shane and i'll be running for the Ireland job. Now i suppose i've got to write a speech. Bleh

Its rare i get players that i can use. Mid training is probably the most difficult because of the requirements. I pulled Holt and Kemp in the same week a couple of seasons ago but only strikers since then. I've also got Dillon. All 3 should feature for the NT at some point, Holt in particular. I need to sort out their stamina though.
Best of luck fella :) Also thank you to everybody for their support this season. I enjoyed the season a lot but when it comes to the NT I think it's Nin's baby and would only consider running if he was too busy to.
Yep, you're right. It's very important to have a maincoach who's good in as much skills as possible. I don't really know the effect of the assistants though ...
I know some users who have 3 magical assistants. Personally I think it's not worth it, I have 3 cheap brilliants one (save at least 30k every week) and I still get great training results.
@shane: Probably that's why no good junior mids are available; because you're keeping them all! ;-)
