Non plus should be able to join the Ireland Association. Scotland certainly has non plus as members.

I've added the player requirements to the frontpage of this thread. I got fed up of editing them and then not being able to edit the Ireland press release. They are the updated requirements. The press release is now wrong.

In other news, i've been doing some work on the database and the following U-23 players are 1 pop away from joining the squad.

Clayton Kinsella - Def - 20 years old
Dave Draper - Def - 23 years old
Glen Hegarty - Mid - 21 years old (Already included but shouldnt be)
Murray Schaunig - Mid - 20 years old
Ian Dillon - Mid - 22 years old
Jimmy McHugh - Fwd - 22 years old
Gordon Zounos - Fwd - 23 years old

There are some older players 1 pop away but they're not such a priority. These guys have hit the requirements with some training to come.

Welchy, your fixtures should be

Week 5 - Indonesia
Week 10 - Malta
Week 13 - South Africa
Week 1 - Israel

That Indonesia turns into Ghana if we somehow lose next week. I've got Malta confirmed for Week 10 but i wouldnt be suprised if they went with the U-21's.

Grand job. I'll get researching asap

I'll sort you out the database when i've got the last few players. I've made a few changes to the version i think you saw.

Yeah mine was a fairly old one. My player Gerry Ducasse is 4 levels higher now than in that database, an updated one would be handy alright lol

I think i might add the Ireland game history to our association instead of putting it in our press release. Not being able to edit where its currently is bloody stupid.

Heehee. Today's match against South Africa featured one of the worst corner kicks I've seen in Sokker (30th minute by SA). Yikes! :)

I haven't been a huge fan of Curley's positioning in the final 1/3 the past two weeks. He's an imperfect weapon, and though he may be free placed at the top of the 18 he's just not going to hit a good percentage of those 18-20 yard bombs he's launching. My own feeling is that he'd be more productive from closer range, even if it means tighter marking from the opponent.

That said, he muscled out a couple really good late chances and should have brought this match home. :/

Striker position for the last 2 games has been awkward. I wasn't able to research what line South Africa would play. What i was aiming for was what happened in the last couple of minutes, a 50/50 ball for him to win or a throughball. The midfield and wings arent providing those passes for some reason.
Anyway, the game on the whole. Something isnt right and i cant see a problem with the formation. It just seems like the performances arent very good and that shouldnt be a problem when the team i put out average something like 15.5 form. Looking at the stats we had twice as many shots, good. Our midfield didnt take charge though and thats shown in posession and territory. Our wings were once again ineffective although i'm putting that down somewhat to not knowing the striking positions. I thought Cramer did a fairly good job when he came on, Sanabria was awful again.
They shouldnt have scored from that 1st goal, just like we shouldnt have scored from ours. I think that was Creedons fault and he wouldnt have been playing if we had an inform replacement.

Group H:
1. Ireland - 12:2 - 7
2. South-Africa - 4:1 - 4
3. Indonesia - 7:8 - 3
4. Ghana - 2:14 - 0

Week 3: Ireland Vs South-Africa - 1:1
Week 3: Indonesia Vs Ghana - 7:1
Week 4: Ireland Vs Ghana - 7:1
Week 4: South-Africa Vs Indonesia - 3:0
Week 5: Indonesia Vs Ireland 0-4
Week 5: Ghana Vs South Africa

South Africa need to win by 8 to take the group.

LOL. That (the BiH vs. Ireland match) was one of the funniest things I've seen in Sokker in ages. :D

Nice approach from Ireland. Liked the defense and midfield placement. Striker positioning is still too conservative for my tastes.
