Assuming that i'm still in charge next season i'll be starting a new youth thread after the election. Thats why i've mentioned a couple of times only pasting players til the end of this season, which is 7 weeks away. Any player with more than 7 can wait for the new thread.
Once that thread is up it would be really helpful if you could all post your lists before the first pop of that week, otherwise i'm left having to work out where everyone fits in the timeline and that gets progressively more difficult as the season goes on.
We had 60+ players listed this time round and i'm looking to beat that.
I've also said it before but ideally you should be looking to pull be pulling your players at Very Good. The other alternative is players who've not been in your squad for long as they'll generally turn out younger.
The only real problem with this system i've got is it doesn't cover any new trainees you get after the lists are posted. Thats something we've just got to play by ear.
You may all find it useful to download Sokker Manager (Link will be on the forum somewhere) or Sokker Viewer (Link in Ireland press release) in order to keep track of your youth players (As well as a load of other stuff). I use both and I’ll leave the choice to you but I will say that Sokker Viewer has a submit player to National Team option that would be enourmously helpful to me and would allow me to stop harassing you all for your player details. (It will continue) With 7 weeks of the season left now is the perfect time to start using a talent predictor as it would be accurate by the time next season starts.
Your homework for the rest of this season is to get a excellent youth coach and 8 training slots minimum.
Go Go Go ;)

I've decided i wont be running for next season's national election.
It's important we have consistency during the qualification and thats something thats been lacking while i've been in charge. It doesn't matter how many you beat the likes of Bolivia by if you then go and lose to teams you're quite capable of beating. I'm going to set up the youth pulling database for next season and basically collect as much info as i can for the next manager and then i'll hand over the entire datebase. I hope whoever takes over likes Excel because there is about 8 pages of it and around 200 players at an estimate. This will grow.
I've set up a stepping stone system for all Irish players.
1st page - Unpulled trainees. It's basically where i've listed who's being pulled and when. Once they're pulled, their stats are filled in and they're cut and pasted onto page 2.
2nd page - This is where players are identified for the position they play and colour coded. Players who's stats cant be found stay here. Once a players position is identified they're moved on to...
3rd, 4th and 5th page - Defenders, Midfielders and Forwards. This is basically just seperating everyone into groups while they train up. Most players will end up on this list. The best will move onto...
6th page - The U-21 squad. You take the best from pages 3, 4 and 5. Simple really.
7th page - The national team and the last step obviously. If you play for the national team you cant be in the U-21 page. This is to avoid having the same player on two pages and buggering up the whole system of moving up the ladder.
There are a few pages on the end for other stuff.
The Ranking Calculator
You put in your ranking, you put in theirs and it'll tell you what you stand to gain depending on the result. Losses need a reversal of the formula but it's not rocket science.
The Schedueler
Self explanatory. Arrange your friendlies early or you'll end up playing Poland.
The NT Stats page - This one is a bit more complicated. It's basically a list of which teams are moving up or down. You probably wont need it but i've made it for my own ego. I want to see how i've done at the end of the season and i'll post the results.

Are you sure you won't run?
It'd be a good idea to have someone like yourself with a bit of experience run the team in the group qualifiers.
At least consider the possibility that you may be the best man for the job.

I like all, but i agree a little with executor

Ok here's what i'll do. I'll wait and see who wants the job and if no-one suitable comes up i'll run. I'm basically resigning on the premise that i dont believe i'm the best guy to run it but if no-one better comes up then yes i'll take control.

From what I can see you've put a lot of hard work into organising a database etc and have got some nice results. I can't see anybody out there who'd do a much better job.
I havent been happy with the losses to Turkey and more recently Chile and Sweden. I took them as a sign that we're not moving forward when we had better results against them earlier in the season.
ive always thought shane t be the best man for the job and he did very well when he was in charge but he never ran again so it really has to be someone else
you've done a good job and the results have been very good under you so i dont see why you shouldnt continue. we need a bit more consistency and not just managers taking the job for a single season all the time

I also think Shane is the best person to take over and told him so a few nights ago. Whether he wants it is another matter.
I would be very interested in running.
I know i would have done a lot better last time if my forwards were on form and Shane can back me on this i hope.
We'll wait and see i suppose.
The reason i pulled out of the last election seems no longer valid if Nin doesn't stay on and as it turns out i will be around over the next few months which i thought i wouldn't be, due to a new job.

I'd run for election again but I don't see how I'd improve anything very much from the job you've done. To be honest there's no way I would have put in the work on things like juniors that you have :)
We can't really expect to beat teams like Chile (599 users) or Sweden (258 users) every time. In the qualifiers next season we'll need to get lucky with the draw to have any chance of getting to the world cup.
If you're serious about not running I'll run for next season but I think consistency would be better.

If things go well in the next 4 games i'll run and leave it up to you guys whether you elect me. You've far more confidence in me than i have though.
As for the qualifying groups. I'm certain we can do it but we need to be consistent and have a little bit of luck with the draw.

Speaking as someone new to sokker I think you do really well with regards to keeping people in the loop, publishing threads about what youths are colming through, stuff like that. That aspect can easily be taken for granted but it's very important for keeping the general community interested, making them/us feel part of the setup and all, and when you get a manager who couldn't be arsed with all that it sucks.
The long and short of it is, you've got my vote
