Subject: Youth Monitoring (Season 10)

2007-03-16 16:02:52
Thats 98 trainees. Strangely the really good ones seem to be ready in the same weeks. Weeks 3, 5 and 9 could turn up some really good players. Hopefully they wont be predominantly Keepers like they have been this week.

I'm concentrating on the growth of the youth players in my main squad, this season. Struggling to keep up in the prem so I'm cutting investment in my youth squad.

Not a good example i know but the youth players i have cost me a fortune bewteen a ys of 25 something and the incredible coach
2007-03-16 20:22:07
I'm ramping my youth team up this season. There's no point having an Incredible youch coach if he's not training as many players as possible. It's just getting the players in thats causing a problem, i've had a load of junk for the last month.
2007-03-17 12:45:08
sure You are small country - but i compared Your youth not with polish at all, but with my own youth school.

and i think that You have terrible bad luck with it, or doing something wrong... that's why i'm asking about Your strategy. Have You some limits of places? what about coaches?

for example on this season:

Lech Zakrzewski good 1
Kuba Przeczek excellent 3
Gustaw Ziober outstanding 3
Alfred Pasieka solid 5
Feliks Zapiec very good 5
Daniel Midzior formidable 8
Szczepan Mroziński very good 10
Jaromir Mierzeja very good 10
Józef Olszyna formidable 11
Rudolf Kolasiński solid 13
Tadeusz Zaowocny good 15

here is two incredible juniors, and one will be brilliant... my Youth is just normal, in poland much of managers have a lot better schools. that's why i think that something You doing wrong, and You can improve it:)
2007-03-17 12:51:57
It comes down to luck. If you're on about my team, being in the lower division means i dont get as good a players as i would if i was in the Premiership. I've also pulled a lot of my stronger players recently so appearances can be deceptive.
2007-03-17 13:00:00
the division isn't important in it:) my also isn't high:)

i'm talking about all teams - only shane have v.good youth.

sure - luck, but it's strange that so many teams haven't it, don't You think?
2007-03-17 13:05:48
I'm sure i read somewhere that you'll get better players if you're higher up.
If thats not the case then yes, i find it very odd.
2007-03-17 13:15:06
i'm also sure, that it isn't true:) i know lots of managers who play in high divisions, and they have worse youth than me. for example borkos.

what is Your youth coach? in poland is a idea, that to start a youth school You should have formidable coach at least. and how many empty places You have for new juniors?
2007-03-17 13:24:19
My youth coach is Incredible and i had 18 spaces until recently. I've cut down recently because i've pulled a lot of players and didn't need the excess space for another couple of weeks.
2007-03-17 13:30:32
18 spaces, but how many of them are empty? i have allways 6 places for new juniors. when number of youth is going over 24(so 30 places at all) i reject low talented juniors, and in that way i have always 24 juniors, and 6 places for new talents:)
2007-03-17 13:34:44
I always keep 5 spaces, providing i can afford to.
2007-03-17 13:42:40
If there are more applicants than places some of them will be turned down, but you will never know who was rejected…They could have been a useless youth or a potential star for your team.

remember about it. one place more is only 1k per week, profits could be high:) i think that youth and coaches are most important, and nobody should saving on them:)

Depending on their talent they all have the potential to be decent players. The 17 year old would have the best chance of getting into the national team though.
