Subject: (NT) Nin

Righto, well I’ve been in this game for just over a year now. Next season will be my 4th full season and my 1st in the premiership. I’m coming off the back of a pretty successful season with a record of 30 wins 1 draw and 1 loss against Ireland managers (I prefer to keep to within the community)

I’ve been Ireland manager for the last 2 seasons, in which time I’ve setup a huge national database, a youth monitoring system and a census of all Irish managers in an effort to get the community familiar with each other.

On the pitch we’ve shown signs of giving the bigger and more populated countries a severe test recently, only for results not to go our way. The current qualifying table we’re in is a great injustice to us but every cloud has a silver lining. Failure to qualify for the world cup means we’re free to persue the mini world cup next season, a tournament that we should do very well in.

The reason I’m still looking to keep hold of my job after two seasons is simple. I don’t feel I’ve finished what I started yet and i love the job. The youth system was always going to take 3 or 4 seasons before it started producing the type of players we’ve been lacking. Players like Phelan (hattrick at the weekend) are only now starting to come through the setup. Given another 2 seasons we should be looking to emulate what Scotland have done on such a small userbase, qualify and (more importantly) compete at the world cup proper.

In terms of the coming season I have two objectives
1) Get into the 3rd batch of seeds for next seasons world cup groups
2) Win the mini world cup. We’re more than capable of it

Mainly it’ll be business as usual and most of you know how I run things. The new youth team thread will be up on Thursday and the database update starts next week. Things should be a bit more organised these season, I’m always finding little ways to make things smoother.
What I would like to do is involve the community more but I’m at a loss as how to do that. Any ideas will be welcome.
As far as the team goes, it will mostly be the same for the 1st half of this coming season but players like Phelan should start breaking their way in towards the 2nd half and I’m definitely looking to strengthen the defence.
