Bah, i had 2 million that i could have spent of my team trying to compete with you but i reasoned that you'd spend on your team as well, making my spending worthless. Instead it went on my stadium.

It will pay off in the long run to have put it into your stadium though

Agreed. I have a suspicion i may have gone overboard with the stadium though. I'll find out when i see the gates for games with Cremartin and Athletico.

How do you beat bad tactics??? - I thought i put up a strong team and brought in my new players just to get beaten 4 - 0 in the opener. I am hoping that it will take a little time for my newbies to settle in and it was just unlucky that i had to meet them in the first game.

Play wide, defend the middle and push up would be my guess.

You need to tighten up that formation you're playing. You probably have the best defenders in Ireland but because there's only 3 of them in an uneven line with not much cover from midfield my strikers and attacking midfielders were able to find space too easily. That formation I used against you is set up to counter attack straight down the middle so if you had clogged up in front of your defence I would have had a lot of trouble.

Also, at the moment my team is a bit Real Madrid, my 4 mids are all basically wingers so if you could get a bit of bite in the centre I'd have a lot more trouble playing through.

I could give away a lot more but I don't want to make it too easy for people to beat me ;)

well uve beaten me in the cup 6 outta 6 and my league record isnt much better. hopefully i can start to change things around this year

so i wouldnt be too worried about giving away too much info!

now if only i could find a fit striker...

Yeah i'll revisit my set-up, it takes so long though!

It's just formations really- there isn't too much of a difference in quality between the top 5 or 6 in the Prem. Plus (or NT management ;) ) is very handy as you can look at what top teams use but it's easy enough to see watching your own games what gaps need closing. I was lucky that when I started playing I had a really boring job with internet access so I did nothing but mess around with formations :)

I'm thinking of changing to one of my other formations for the weekend now that I've given away how to match the narrow one :)

It's trial and error mixed with a bit of common sense. What i'd advise is to pick one formation and work on ironing out the flaws in it until it's as good as you'll get it. Once you know how to set a good 4 man defence you can then use it for any 4 man defensive formation. Having the NT has been useful for me because i've got 10 slots to store tactics in. I'll create one for the national team and if it doesnt work i'll copy it over to the club team and use the two club games to fix any problems. I think i had about 6 tactics at one stage but they need updating now.

I would be too hard on yourself about this one. Apoel went on some spending spree since last season from what I can see

I dont think thats it. I'm looking at my defence which was pretty watertight last season and players are just running right through it. My midfield doesnt seem to be able to keep the ball either. Major changes are going to be needed if this continues next week.

I think you underestimated that formation of Rafas a bit- there's a lot of pace there that presses you hard unless you can move play around them.
