Subject: 4 nations cup anyone?

I was thinking of starting a cup between our 4 home nations (club teams) and was wondering if ppl would be interested ?
There would be 4 teams from each country(wales, scotland, ireland and england), the top 3 from the premier(top division) and the winner of the cup.
If the winner of the cup was in the top 3 in the league, then the 4th spot would go to the losing finalist in the cup.
There would be 4 groups with 4 teams in each(1 from each country), where we can set it up as a friendly league without return fixtures(just 3 games each league). The top 2 from each of those groups would then go into the quarter finals (knock out stage). The winners of those obviously going through to semis and then final.
More details and complicated rules to follow if the interest is there :P

I must have missed this when it was posted. I think it's a great idea if you can make it an end of season tradition.
As I said in the reply to your mail, I gave up on this as I got 2 or 3 responses in england, 1 or 2 in scotland and none here. So we decided to go with the welsh invitational this season which has been nice and succesful.
The format used though could easily be extended into a "welsh/irish invitational" for next season and would involve 16 irish teams.
If there is enough interest, I will explain how the format works or you could check out the welsh invitational thread in sokker cymru.
Unlike the 4 nationas, it would be first come, first served, so if you are interested, just reply here :)

Must have missed this first time round- definitely interested.
You might not get the top 4 in each country but there should be 4 teams up for it in each. Just get the best you can. I'd be interested but i'm sure there are better teams above me who would be interested first.
I'm just sorting this out and will be sending invites shortly.

You my have issues with people having booked up friendlies or having signed up to friendly leagues already. Arranging now for next season may be a bit more realistic.
I'll take a look tomorrow. If teams aren't available their place will be offered to the team below them.
