Everest [del] to All
I havent really paid much attention to players or matches on this, and would like to start giving my team some shape, but havent a clue what skills go with what etc. Anyone want to give me a hand and whip my boys into shape? Im probably letting talent go to waste with my lot!

i can help you - if you want mail

i suggest you read the rules and do a youtube search for sokker. that would help you a lot.

Also it starts lookin like Ireland could make use of Questions and Answers topic common in other countries. It serves like a knowledge base in a long run. So starting one.

Well people seem to advise training players in one skill, then changing to train them in a complimentray skill.

But I have ignored this and trained technique for ages cos having players with crap tech totally sucks. I bought in cheap players who were nearly decent but who had say poor tech, and trained them up and sold at say adequate/good tech, and made very nice profits on some of them.

Once all my main players had acceptable tech, I changed to pace and have been doing the same - train the main core of my squad to a very good level, and keeping an eye out for people who would benefit a lot from 2 or 3 levels of pace.

I have been making good money, doing well, and it'snot too stressful ie no worrying about what to train next etc. I think I will train pace for probably at least another season and a half

you are right, you either choose your stategy, like pace, and then look out for players who need it. Or you assemble a group of talents and then just train what they need and they all benefit.

I think both approaches are right.

my previous philosophy was training on autopilot somewhat and changed when they got to divine :D

switching to train their other skills now
2007-10-15 20:51:37
it suits your name, to train them in one skill for EVER ;)

It would have suited better had it been Neverest ;)

Anything is worth a try when it comes to team shape- the important thing is that your formation stays in a compact unit that moves from side to side to wherever the ball is. With the formation you're using at the mo even to just get the full backs playing alongside your centre backs as a bank of 4 would make a huge difference.

When it comes to training what I did to decide what to train was to look at my younger players and work out what would benefit them most to get trained in. I planned out their training for a few seasons with those 2 or 3 skills. Then if I was buying a player I knew what I was planning and could fit more and more players into it. In terms of what you train there are two main types. You can train strikers and attacking players (Training striking, technique and pace) where the problem is that you can only train 6 a week at striker. The easier-ish option is to train mids/defenders. Mids need a lot more skills to be effective though- an all rounder in Sokker is always better than ones with huge levels in just a few skills.

Great thing about training strikers is that you see them getting better and better and scoring more and more goals as you go. Also although you can only train 6, you sell them for more than say defenders...

Real tradeoff imo is that you have to play with 3 strikers for extensive periods and then in other periods you have to play your strikers in midfield for tech training.

If you use a 4-2-4 this would train 4 attackers wouldn't it?
2007-10-16 17:45:25
you can't train 4 ATT in match
