I had a load of rubbish but my decent youths turn up next week i think. I did get a lot of pops from my trainees though. If Jonathan Holt doesnt make the national team in his career it will be my fault. He's 18, valued at 160k while only having weak stamina and has a talent of 3.5.

I think "depressing" sums up this bunch.
The more the youth system is tightened up, the more it benefits the big nations. I wonder why the devs did this, just as Poland are starting to be challenged by other nations O_o
2008-01-17 21:25:52
I wouldn't go too far down the conspiracy route ;) I think its more an effort to sort out the economy like Hattrick did.

I don't think the changes are as big as you think they are either; like I said I have a good few high talent juniors on the way and I've done ok in the last 2 seasons. Also, squads are improving so it could be that youth pulls are perceived as not being as good as they used to be.
2008-01-17 21:37:24
Aye i know. I'm not the greatest fan of the devs as is well known.
There's no doubt the squads are improving but i can look back 3 or 4 seasons and say that had you got an excellent pull or better, you would have at least got a reasonable player out of it 80% of the time. Thats certainly not the case anymore. I used to look forward to Excellent pulls, now i barely take any notice unless they're formidable or higher because Excellents tend to have major weaknesses most of the time.

Quickly trawling through the old youth threads there doesn't seem too much of a change in quality. Also, players don't have to be monsters to end up NT quality. Here's a good example- he wouldn't exactly get you too excited if you saw this as a formidable pull today but he's ended up a NT player.

Andrew McCauley, age: 19
value: 85 250 €, wage: 1 200 €

I disagree. McCauley clearly has potential when he was pulled. Especially if it was at the start of the season.
The problem with recent pulls comes when they're being pulled with Tragic or Hopeless pace or technique and it's happening fairly regularly.

Stop picking on my players !! :) He ended up as an NT player due to his brilliant training but in fairness he only ever played one NT game a long while ago.

He was just the first I saw that I recognised. I forgot to mention the ace training he got but I thought that was implied with him being an Athletico player ;)
