I'm omni-present on these forums, i cant really ignore anything.
I've not said anything because i'm supporting Ganz. Talking you up wouldnt really serve my purpose if i've voted for someone else, would it?
A few seasons ago not being present on this forum would have left you no chance but i think things have changed slightly.
As for why i'm supporting Ganz. I've been saying for 2 or 3 seasons that i felt he was the best manager in this game. His credentials back that up. 3 times national champions, 3 years experience at national level. I tried to recruit him for the national team job last season when i stood down but he was too busy with uni.
As for why he's not been on this forum. Well uni last season and being Switzerland coach in the previous 3 seasons.

ok, thats your opinion, i respect it.

you right, his archivments are great, but when i compare level of swiss premier, and my on division... they are on similar level. that is much easier to archieve something in small country:) ok, thats all from me:)
2008-02-05 23:07:59
ok, i'd like to write something short aswell, even though it's a little off-topic ...

you're completely right, i haven't been active here before!
like Nin wrote, i had a very busy time at university, with some very important exams, and this is also why i decided not to candidate last season even though five former NT managers asked me to continue their work ...

on general i didn't invest that much time in sokker this season, uni is one reason, but not the only one. i needed kind of a "rest" after spending far too much time with the Swiss NT!

but when i compare level of swiss premier, and my on division... they are on similar level. that is much easier to archieve something in small country:)

i actually don't like such comparisons because in the end we never can say who's better!
and like i wrote in my election speech, i don't like to look at the club results.

as a NT coach in my eyes somebody has much more responsibilities than just creating tactics and having success!
he also has to inspire the community, he has to communicate with both the community and the managers of the NT players.

coming back to the point of discussion: i haven't been active in this forum, yes, and that's definitely the biggest minus a candidate can get! ;-)
i know that, i could have had it easier and could have candidated in a country i'm active (some of them are also looking for a new coach). but i want to try it here, especially because of Nin.

i know how much he's investing in making the best of Irelands possibilites! he's working hard and "fighting" for Ireland everywhere it's possible!

i'd like to help Ireland aswell, however i can. i think i can help them as Irish NT coach. but regardless to the election results i'll try to be active as active as possible in this forum!

and finally the Irish community will decide, and they will take the right decision, whoever they'll vote for!

i finally see it as a very good sign that some experienced managers are interested in sokker-Ireland! ;-)

hmm ... it wasn't that "short", sorry for that ... ;-)

now it's the best to come back to the topic, if there's any need to discuss more, then we should do it in any of the [NT] threads ... ;-)

Thanks, i probably annoyed Cam as well for the same reason. Anyone who's seen my posts on the international forums though will know i'm fairly stubborn/single-minded/ruthless when it comes to getting the best for the national teams, in particular our team. Annoying people is a common but necessary side-effect.

What I'm missing a little bit with the candidates for the NT is a focus on youthschools... The next period it's the most important thing for a country like Ireland. it's not important that you can get next two seasons some good results against higher placed teams. It's important that :

- you can convince the users to give a lot of their money to youthschools.
- you detect every possible NT-talent promoted from Irish schools.
- you follow this players and keep in touch with the owners. You can persuade them to change training, to get better coaches, to sell the players if they don't get the right training,...

that part of the job will decide if Ireland can become better in the long term... Not some good results in the present because of some good tactics...
2008-02-06 14:44:01
Oh yeah, we're not bothering with the youth schools at all. I mean there's only this thread, the 250 strong database, the plus reward for the best youth team...
They're not focusing on it because the system is already in place.

The last youths of the season will be posted in here tomorrow morning. Once we're done with this season i'll create a new thread for next season's youths. As i've said, there will be Plus for the team (excluding the premiership) with the best youths. Dont try and cheat either, i will know :)

(excluding the premiership)

boo!
2008-02-06 15:35:33
This is for encouraging teams to invest in their youth teams, you're rich, you should already be doing it anyway ;)
