Subject: Training Passing

dylanos [del] to All
From the rules: Passing is most effectively trained by the midfielders (MID), the remaining positions train slower. If you want to enhance training effect for other positions, you can do so. However, it will result in decreasing the training effectiveness for the midfielders.

I keep re-reading this, and it seems to suggest that passing trains all positions at once, with the biggest effect being for midfielders. Otherwise why state the decreased effectiveness for mids if you 'enhance' other positions...
can someone who has trained passing for a season tell me if that is correct?

cheers

would be interested in knowing this as well as next season or the season after i'll be training passing.
but it does seem to suggest that it trains all.

you are right mate... setting the training regime to passing all your players set (mid) will get full training and all the others will get just a percentage of if. If you set it to be (att) all your players with setting (att) will get the full training and your (mids) will get a percentage of it.

The one you select gets the lions share, and the most effective one to select to maximise the training is midfielders as when the focus is on them it's more productive. The other non-trained positions get slightly higher than normal general training in my experience.

I think what they mean by that 'enhance' but is that if you set DEF to train passing what you get is MIDs and DEFs get 50% each.

Unlike tech training for instance where DEF gets 100% if selected

Could be. It'd be nice if the devs clear this one up.

Gibbage testified once that this was how passing worked if DEF selected - if so then the rules are accurate but vague to say the least - this is probably intentional

Just to clarify....

If I am training Tech at DEF position my MIDs and ATTs will not pop in tech due to this training?

I understood the rules to be different..

Training of defending (tackling the ball)

You can select the position that will train defending most effectively during the week, you can choose among ATT, MID and DEF. The remaining positions train slower.

Training of technique

Similar to defending, it is most intensively trained by the position selected for the current week.

seems to suggest although the defs are getting the lions share of Tech the Mids and Attackers are getting some.

they'll get a little bit- but not much more than general training - if any.

I've trained defence and tech on MID a lot and not noticed any great training for ATT or DEF

Unlike striker where MIDS definitely get quite a bit

Pretty sure it's as Vancian has described.

If you want to train Passing you need to do it on MIDS. If you do it on other positions then the training gets split about. The MIDS are still trained though, but less effectively.

I've only ever trained Passing on MIDS so can't verify from experience. I can verify that it doesn't just train everyone like Pace does. The people that aren't MIDS (or whatever position you choose + MIDS) just get the standard random general training.

So If i am training DEF Tech and i wanted some of my Atts to get a bit of tech training it would be better to pay them as defs in my friendly?
2008-02-22 23:37:35
Yeah. Or switch to training ATT Tech, but that's probably not inline with your training plans.

loses 4 training slots that way - best to play them out of position in the friendly
