Someone gets a "good 1" in their junior school, he comes out 1 week later, and doesn't look too great, he's put on the list, and someone bites for £2.

While it can happen, it's not very likely, I'd say spending 5-10k each on 10 trainees(def/mid) or 10-15k each on 6 trainees (att) would be worthwhile, you're still left with enough money to cope, and your trainees should increase in value enough to make up for their wages.

Fairy Town
JUST JOKING!
I've bought a good few and i'm finding my feet.
2008-03-12 19:49:22
yeah thats fine!as i have seen loads of players that would make ideal trainee's go for 5-6k over the last hour or so!

but 1 pound players are usless and allway's will be!

new users need to concentrate on getting to div3 as fast as possible i have sed it loads and i will say it again! untill it drums into the heads of people out there who think ken is a god :P 1 pound players are not going to get you to div3. New users need to promote within one season really! as long as they don't do what i did and train keepers lol.

You say that new users need to promote on the basis that their sponsership money will increase?

See the way I see it, new users should be looking at buying the best YOUNGEST trainees they can afford, if this means that they then miss out on promotion immediately then fine, what will be the case though is that in a season or two of training these players they will be promoting with ease as the players start to become far better than anything that could be afforded by new teams.

This, i am learning, is "probably" the best way to gear yourself for promotion without knowing you're going to get relegated straight away.

Either way, everyone has there own ideas, and i partly disagree with you both :o) particularly Daleg.

aye sponsorship and money in general

your still missing the point im making im not saying don't buy trainee's! but buy a couple of nice ones for like 50k a piece or 25k a piec instead of wasting money on wages that are useless! as sokker gives you a few young players that COULD! be talented if new users give them a chance! IT! shows the difference between long term users and users who will not be around for long! when they turn to the transfer market to buy 1pound players on hoping they have good talent! WHEN! they have not got the patience to see what talent they have in there squad already.
2008-03-12 20:09:44
the player I thought was a useful prospect and better than what I bought at the beginning went for £20

no offense and i hope you don't take it the wrong way :)

you have blown 3 chances of being in div3 so whatever your plan is. It is not working particaly well.

But good luck in auto promoting this season as you are off to a good start.

I don't claim to be an expert...i'd like to think i'll be reasonably equipped when i do make it to III, but i've done myself no favours winning the league 3 times.

Regardless, i think i am equipped to have my opinion on whether getting straight in to III as quickly as possible (which means you'll nearly definately be relegated) is a good idea, to which i think it is not.
2008-03-12 20:22:53
which means you'll nearly definately be relegated

thats just negative thinking! i wasted 3 seasons on pi****g around really on GK training :( but when i eventually got there i didn't get relegated! and the money was a big help for me to not get relegated! id like to think i could of got to div3 in my second season and maybe could of been in div2 by now, but i never wanted to get my ass kicked to be honest! Im 100% going for it this season and just need to beat the teams i drawed against next time to earn a qualifier.
2008-03-12 20:28:12
I just double checked your history...it took you 4 seasons to win your IV, and when you did promote, it wasn't through a play-off, so i would argue that you are not neccessarily best equipped to have a dig! ;o)
