Subject: SAY NO TO 1 POUND PLAYERS
I just double checked your history...it took you 4 seasons to win your IV, and when you did promote, it wasn't through a play-off, so i would argue that you are not neccessarily best equipped to have a dig! ;o)
Well you can feel free to have a look through my club history and have a dig if you want ;-).
I followed the path of buying the youngest most rounded trainees I could find and it certainly served me very well.
My biggest improvements came when I got JPK as a mentor mind, its always good to have another manager to bounce ideas off.

hahahaha! if you took the time to read the last post i said i trained goalies
When i got my ass into gear and starting caring about sokker! i auto promoted with ease! picked up points against teams who have been there a lot longer than me! and winning my playoff with a few missing starter players if i remember! last season i finished fourth and this season i am aiming high again and achieving! i have conceded 2 goals in the league all season! i am unbeaten in 4 games! in my second season in div3 so don't tell me im not equipped to have a dig. Im trying to teach new users not to make the sam mistakes i did! as it can affect you for a while it still does but know i have the cash to build my b team and get sorted. Also i never wasted money on juniors untill my 3rd season.

You trained goalies, yes, well done, but training doesn't decide your league position in your first season. I highly doubt there were managers in IV there longer than you were (4 seasons) and i just said, i just checked your results and on your 4th attempt you won your IV (p14 w14) and did not play a play-off!.
You are trying to teach new users not do things that i partly disagree with. I chose to open my junior school right away, and in 3 seasons i have 2 players in my squad that are worth £1m between them.
You'd call that wasted money, i wouldn't.

i quote if you read on i was talking about my first season in div 3 i had a promotion game! thats if you think you know so much about my history.
training does decide league position! training has 75% to do with league positioning at least the other 15% is to do with tactics! you cannot win without training!
i had bought and sold 3-4 nt players before i got to div 3
if you have 2 players worth over 1mill im butch cassidy to be honest

oh and if you want to get personall you suck at tactics! in 3 seasons you are still creating noob mistakes
If you want to play 3 defenders they should at least be in line.

alright then MR.£2 expert take a look at this £2 player and tell me what is wrong with him
Sebastian Niewolski, age: 20
value: 38 400 £, wage: 555 £
club: AFC Denton Sharks, country: Polska
outstanding form, tragic tactical discipline
injury: (12 days)
weak stamina, tragic keeper
hopeless pace, unsatisfactory defender
very good technique, weak playmaker
good passing, poor striker
when you find a reason why this player is a bad £2 signing and why i shouldnt sign players like him for £2 then i will stop

Erm, get almost any 16 year old and they will be FAR better by the time they are aged 20.
fair enough but I aint gonna stop, i have actually found good potential £2 players, Virgil Obrejan is one and i sold him for 73k
You shouldn't be looking to buy £2 players, you should be looking to buy good trainees, if they so happen to just cost £2, fantastic, but don't fall into the trap of thinking every buy has to be £2!
i know that and i do not look into buying £1 players but at that time i was really tight on money so the highest i could spend was £5000 so £1 was the only option otherwise i would have never had Obrejan or Belu Melesteu
I didn't relegate, went up first season got 2nd in III and then won it.
Now I am in II too fast as I am definately out of my depth there! lol

You don't count, shhh ;o)
Daleg, lets just kiss and make up, because you have selective reading, and i have been using a default tactic on purpose for a little while now, which you'd know if you looked at the name of the tactic :o)
Not that i claim to be a tactic expert or anything, i'm far from one.

You use too many exclamation MARKS in your SENTENCES young man!!!
Fact is, for £2 you can end up with a crap 16-17 year old with poor skills who, if talented, is going to be far better if you keep him to his early 20s than a better trainee bought at 19-20 for £50k or so. It's all down to talent - if you know a player's talented but his skills are utter pap then he's a better long-term prospect than blowing your wad on an older, more skilled, but more expensive player. Buy an older, more skilled, but more expensive player that's talented, and that's also a bargain.
Swings and roundabouts. Each signing should be on its own merits rather than a blanket 'price is proportional to usefulness' approach to newbies buying trainees.
This isn't all directed at you btw Dale, tis my rambling observations based on the thread as a whole.

yeah I have certainly made a profit from players that were 6-22 thousand U.S. dollars. But I am guessing your saying the one euro players specifically?
