Subject: SAY NO TO 1 POUND PLAYERS

2008-03-18 17:44:05
I know. But as I have no money at all (in fact 78k in debt) should I keep them, or buy some young £1 players?.

This is season 2 for me & money is tight as a ducks backside.

You actually have 7 players over 24, and i would look at getting rid of perhaps 5 of those (depending on how important they are for your first team) and replace them.

You obviously need to make some money back, and the sooner you do this, the better.

Those older players probably don't have a great market value, and if you were to replace them now with some really cheap, young trainees, you may well get back in the black and have some developing players by the end of the season.

£78k is a lot of debt; i cut most of my losses by playing away friendlies in the best stadiums i can find, and i notice you play at home.

What are the wages for just your coaches?

The total wage cost for 4 coaches is £9.1k.

The 7 older players are my best players for sure, but I will sell them when I get some pace into my younger players.

I will try & play away on friendlies from now to get some extra cash.

I hope to finish 3rd or 4th this season, as my team is not very good yet.

Thank you for your help, as the debt does worry me all the time now.

I just got an away friendly fixture in a 29k capacity arena. That is fantastic for me.

Thank you for suggesting this, as I never thought any great big club like this one would want to play against my team.

I am delighted.

Sorry Daleg2206. I see I have strayed right away from the topic. My apologies, I just got carried away.

I still think cheap players are needed in Sokker to help the newbies get going, & at least get a squad together that they built.

Well done. I think you will get around £5k for that game if both supporters are in a good mood, i bet that's more than you have been getting? ;o)

That's the thing, in my first couple of seasons i took a lot of time arranging a friendly; as soon as it came to Thursday i'd invite teams with lots of seats that weren't even on the list.

I've probably annoyed a few people doing this, but normally someone is kind enough to accept, and it's really helpful dosh early on :o)

hey. i blew to much money on my stadium. (110k) and get 200 supporters in a friendly game and unknown in a league game.
