a high line is really important. yes you could get caught out now and again but thats the risk you take.
2008-03-19 22:35:44
its not that bad mate! maybe play with 2 strikers? and play 4 defenders instead of 2 wing backs like me.
2008-03-19 22:35:49
That's fine if you've got either very good or very fast defenders (preferably both). But if you haven't it does leave you a tad exposed.

I've noticed it particularly when playing friendlies against II or III opposition. Their forwards tend to be a lot quicker!

sometimes but you know when to adjust the offside trap to personal experiences.

it can save your life more times than not using high defenders i think

When you're against very good opposing strikers who play midfielders just behind the forwards it can be more effective to keep your defence back and not go much further than the edge of the box.

So move a player from defense to forward?

I have changed it a bit to push a player up a bit & bring the wing backs in a bit to help the midfield.

World peace is good. I'm not sure we can achieve that through Sokker.

Good luck with the animals & children bit. That might be harder than the world peace?.

can anyone suggest to me how to beat the Renford Rejects?

Go and watch his last league match, pause the match, just before he goes to kick-off, you should get a good idea of how his side lines up.

You will want to play 2 strikers, and make sure they are positioned in between where his defenders are.

Attacking mid wise, you have 2 options, either play 2 wide wingers, to get away from any of his players, or play 2 attacking mids directly behind your strikers, but forward of Modracki and Routledge, this should leave them in space to do something.

Play 2 defensive mids, to tackle/stop routledge and modracki going forward, place them in line with his 2 mids, to stand the greatest chance of stopping them.

Play 3 central defenders, make sure one is directly in line of his main striker though, plus play 1 more player directly infront of your middle central defender, this is to try to stop clench.

So either

---x--x--x---

----x----x----

Should give you a good chance of closing the gap, though his players rating wise are a good bit better than yours.

hm. i'll study his match. wait. i'm not a plusser.
2008-03-23 15:57:52
well, you can get a good idea of his formation from the individual scores part of the match report - I think that's not plus dependent

hm. sokker is turning for the worse for me, withmy previous team i was heading for auto promotion, having beaten the best team 3-1. Then the admins locked me out for cheating, as some people locked me out by transfering with someone i hated. i couldn't believe it, as i hadn't even been ON sokker, being off with food poisoning. its depressing, this division, no able to win a match.

sokker isn't a game you can do well in without a period of building up. You do seem to be in a league with several real players.

I'd have thought that next season you'll be in the top 2 or 3 - higher if some of the other players aren't very active
