Subject: Tactics

I have read many posts about how the right tactics can make a huge difference.

What is regarded as the best starting formation to use as a base, to allow for your personal tactics & tinkering?.

I mean is 442 or 352 or any other formation the best to start tinkering with.

I have started with 541, to try & not conceed to many goals & have started to move players around from that formation.

But I don't score many goals, so I keep wondering if I should play 442 or 352.

to be honest try and think of a tactic that is both defensive and attacking it doesnt always have to be a 352, or 442 or 433. It can be what you want it to be but if you want more goals and a good defense go for. 4-1-2-2-1

OK thank you, I will try & set that up.

the wingers should be really up there for counter attacks especially. Thats what i used

i go for 3-1-wingers-1-3
my team is best suited to that.

As a general rule of thumb I've always found a 4-1-3-2 to work with a DMC covering the defence; that way your defenders don't run out to tackle the opponent's midfielders and leave great big gaps for their strikers. I've never found attacking midfielders to be effective unless they're miles better than the opposition players, so I tend to keep my midfield back a bit.

Don't stick to only one formation; react to what your opponent normally does and be willing to change e.g. play wingers if your opponent has a very narrow defence every match he plays.

ok, thank you. It helps to hear what other players try within Sokker.

I think getting the tactics right, is so important to do well within this game.

ah... classic Ken... how i've missed it ;-)

to be honest try and think of a tactic that is both defensive and attacking

i.e

play 4 defenders 3 mids and 3 attackers

The 3 mids must always be behind the ball :) then you will have a defensive/attacking tactic
in other words like mine.

To cancel the rejects tactics, i'm going to try to use my centralish atking and defending mids to block them out of the game, so my defence can breathe easier.

there is nothing wrong with 442 diamond

ken- you can't just talk about tactics like that as they also move back and forth you need to discuss what the spacings are between the players and how high up the defenders play etc.

As always you are too simplistic

i like the imaginative one :P

Its like the offside trap never excisted ;)
2008-03-26 16:35:49
It may be useful as a one off, especially if you play a high line, though I really wouldn't recommend anyone using it.
