Subject: Tactics

if the angles tight then yeah... but if ther miles in front of the defender , going back onside will be against what the tactic says... are the players really intelligent enough to be aware that they are always offside?

maybe thts where 'tactical awareness' comes in

either way ill try it in next weeks friendly to see!

Good point.

i think our answer lies in the England semi final match last Saturday...

the Suomi attackers were far beyond our defenders, and as dylanos suggested, they did indeed run back to stay onside regardless.

The only thing was they had further to run to 'get back onside', as they were placed so far in front of our defenders.

Had they have been placed in their tactic maybe one or 2 gaps in front of our defenders they would have had less of a distance to run to get back onside, and would have been caught offside a lot less.

so i THINK its a bit of a gamble really, and also a certain amount of judgement, maybe based on the opponents previous tactics... behnd the defence isnt so good, especially against the stronger teams.

so my conclusion is... just slightly in front of the opposing back line is the best place for attackers in my opinion
