Subject: Tech Training
I don't have him now, but he was an unearthly in technique and really low on all other skills.
I hardly got any random pops on other skills; most of my "randoms" came were technique on DEF's/ATT's.

Well with that sort of coach you expect several times as many random tech pops as the others even if there is no additional tech training for other players.
The question is whether there is any visible increase in tech training for untrained positions when you have a magical coach - I see none.

In the last 5 weeks of tech training I have had

Tech trains fastest when it is set for att, second fastest for mids then slowest when set as defs. All players will receive a very small amount of what ever you are training, and they also receive general training too.
I think............
this is interesting... I didnt realise any of this!
I am currently training strikers, and as I have so many trainees I decided to play most of them in Midfield so I could let the more experienced strikers bag the goals for us.
but as I am training all the MID players in striking, will the process be slower then if I assigned them as ATT?
hope u understand my question lol

With striker the DEF/MID/ATT/GK selector has no effect!
under striker training ATTs get 100% training and MIDS 50% this cannot be altered.
a common mistake but if you look at the rules
Training of striker
Strikers (ATT position) train most effectively, a bit slower the midfielders (MID) and to a little extent, defenders (DEF) and goalkeepers (GK).
There is no mention of changes available as for the other skills

ok so let me get this straight...
my training setting was like this:
Training type: Striker
Training match order: MID
So does this mean they only got 50% of the training than that of the ATT would have got?
sorry... I'm just not so good at understanding stuff lol

the training match order selector does nothing for pace, stamina, GK or Striker - you can set it to whatever you like when training these 4.
whether you set MID or ATT or whatever
For GK obviously the goalie gets trained
for stamina all train
for pace all who play train
for striker ATT get 100% and MIDS get 50%

Just read this thread, and i'm a bit worried as i am training tech on 5 defenders for the tactic i am using! I really don't see the interpretation that tech trains slowest on def's though? Guess i will find out!
I wouldn't worry
tech and def train at the same speed whatever area you pick, as far as I know

OMG!! I did not know when one sets tech training for defense its slowest.. :S
SO much wasted effort... :((((

Not according to vancian, whom my trust is in as i am training tech in def's at the moment! My interpretation of the rules for tech training does not suggest it is any slower if you choose def over mid.
does everyone have different rules to the one I just pasted from the rules section:
Training of technique
Similar to defending, it is most intensively trained by the position selected for the current week.
seems to me there is a lot of fuss about nothing here, or the rules have been changed/clarified

Exactly, nothing about tech training being any slower if you pick def, mid or att.
