NCFC [del] to All
How does income from Sponsors work?.

Does it continue to go up if I keep winning? - what happens if I lose a game or two?.

Good question. How much are you recieving at the moment? In series IV, you can't get much more than £30k per weeki think...that's what i get, and i've been stuck in this rut for 4 seasons!

The variables range from; series, fan mood, your rank...

So basically, in IV you will get as much as £30k if you keep winning, this will almost double if you get promoted and do well...or if you continue to win games in your league it will go up (generally) only very slightly, normally the same if you lose.

Those two bits depend on your rank versus your opposition rank, and your supporter mood.

Sometimes your sponsorship payments can go down after winning; this is normally due to "only" beating a team ranked a lot lower than you say, 1-0.

I got £32693 last week.

I was hoping it would go up to £40k cover my wages & costs, but perhaps not.

£32k?! Bloody hell, are you sure!?

I am distraught! No disrespect, but you haven't been playing as long as me, and you've lost 3 games this season, so am a bit surprised, that's all.

Income
from sponsors: 32 639 £

That's what I got - please don't make it go down as I need the cash.

:D don't worry...i don't have the power to do that...but i know a mod. that has a button that can...

Congrats anyway...really don't understand it but congrats!

Your Mod friend will take my sponsorship down?

I bet it will go down, but I hoped it would go up to 40K+ to pay for my basic running costs.

Oh well - I wish I had not posted now............

DJ keeps losing play-offs for promotion, which has a massive impact on sponsorship, so he starts from a much lower base each season.
Plus the MODs deliberately keep his sponsorship low to try and force him to sell his talented 17yr old so that they can nab him. its a conspiracy, but what can you do?
2008-05-06 14:15:43
I just don't know - I don't know really. A 17yr old Super Star is worth grabbing cheap for sure.

DJ needs to win his league, or win a play off.

He (DJ) really does deserve to be in a higher league than IV in England, as he helps us Newbies all the time.

Please don't let my sponsorship go down as I am desperate for the cash each & every week - my WAGS are getting ever more expensive as seasons go on - bless em.

Hi. I was slightly surprised by NCFCs sponsorship as well. Having started four weeks later, I'm getting £23400 at the moment, and wouldn't expect more than £25k 4 weeks from now.

However, looking briefly at NCFCs Division he seems to have much tougher opposition than I do - he has two established, reasonably well supported, teams to contend with, whereas I have none (and d_j appears to have 1).

It makes me wonder if the support levels of your league opponents has an influence on sponsor money. Does that sound vaguely plausible?

Anyway, given that NCFC has a tougher league than me I'm hardly going to begrudge the extra cash so good luck to him.

I'd agree that doughnut_jimmy is a huge help for us newbies, and does seem to have got the smelly end of the stick on this one.
So stick with it d_j - we're rooting for you...

the level of support in your league as a whole influences how many fans you get and therefore sponsorship
2008-05-06 22:07:33
Just to be sure, if that fans as in "Fanclub members" or fans as in attendance (although I suppose over time it should average out to the same thing)?
2008-05-06 22:21:13
Your "fan club members" are the die hard fans and the ones that subscribe. They are like season ticket holders if you like and of course there will be many that buy on the day. How many turn up is dependant on several things, obviously including your own fans but also opposition mood, rank and weather.

I don't fully understand Vancian's post...yes you will get more fans turn up those games against the top 2...but i don't see how this has an effect on your fan base and theirfore sponsorship?

I guess you must be right though, i can't think any other reason he gets £32k?

And cheers for the thank you messages...i like to think myself as somebody on the same wavelength as struggling IV'ers, and come sometimes be a bit more relative than those money hungry I'ers II'ers and III'ers ;o)

from the news in 2005

We have initiated changes in the way in which supporters will be come to their fan clubs - now the amount of them will partially depend on the division or the prestige of the league. This will be counted on the basis of, for example, the fan clubs of other teams in your league. The new system will take effect from Monday – at this time there won’t be much difference – you can expect that there will be about 1-2 more/less supporters in extreme situations (highest-lowest league) than what would come normally. The influence of the league and division prestige will be increased from the beginning of the next season.

ie if the rest of your league have lots of fans you will get slightly more than people in league with loads of bots - could add up over the seasons
2008-05-06 22:37:36
Ah brilliant, i see that must be it then i guess. Certainly does add up, i'd say over the weeks!

That's a long time ago too...has it been incorperated in to the rules? I've never seen it in there.
2008-05-06 22:47:02
the word prestige is in the rules - but without knowing the past (or trawling through all the news) this is meaninglessly vague. About 7 seasons ago now isn't it?
