Subject: 3 options to spend next seasons cash

2008-05-15 16:00:12
That's loooooooads for 2 assistants! I ran on 3x good's for 2 seasons that cost me £1k each.

I agree that at his level those assistants are a bit too much and he could go a level or two lower. But my comment about them being on good wages was relative to their GA. The lowest poss for 2 VG would be £6k, so £8k isn't so bad :)

My assistants are quite expensive for their skills but it takes a fair bit of money to replace them, so the benefit is negated a bit by that.

True, i didn't realise they were very good's ;o)

True :)

The way I did it at the start, and the advice I usually give, is to get an exe JC from the TL with wages of under £4k and not to bother with assistants until you can afford to upgrade your JC.

Then you can move the low wage exe coach to be an assistant and go from there.

This is one of my assistants and I struggle to replace him as he is low in wages for an excellent I think. I also have a formidable and outstanding but their wages are silly quite frankly....I just cannot afford to replace them.

George Ovendon, age: 66,
wage: 3 750 £
club: Longfield Tigers, country: England
excellent coach

Training effectiveness:
very good of stamina, adequate of keeper
good of pace, formidable of defender
excellent of technique, outstanding of playmaker
excellent of passing, incredible of striker

Yep he is on a nice low wage indeed!

I still only have 2 exe, 1 formid assistants. They are on low wages though and cost me £13290 p/w.

I'm currently looking at a couple of brill coaches on the TL, both just over £16k p/w. It will cost me quite a bit to get one but I think I'll go for it :)

Well I would think you are nicely set financially now to support those sort of wages. Nobody really knows what the benefits of assistants are but I am sure it will be worth it for you.

I think I way overspend on my assistants - currently over £90 000 a week. I could save about £30 000 a week if I could find three of the cheapest magicals, but they just don't seem to be around.

Ahhh cheap Magicals! lol

Tell me about it, I was searching for one as Youth Coach earlier this season, 300k minimum which frankly I just don't have right now. :/

I tried my hardest through skill select and 250k later all I got was a half decent formidable assistant......and my transfer kitty eaten up. lol

the question was how to spend 30k wisely next season - with huge respect to you guys.
2008-05-15 16:28:44
Sorry it was on subject loosely though. ;)

I still say the 3rd assistant which imo if you can do it now before the silly season starts. :)
2008-05-15 16:28:50
they always start bragging! :)
2008-05-15 16:39:17
LOL I have nothing to brag about this season, I am still elated by my FIRST points of the season from this Sunday just gone.
2008-05-15 16:39:47
True.. I was trying to make a point about getting the best assistants you can, both in terms of rating and wage. Just didn't do it very well...
2008-05-15 16:41:08
3rd assistant - or trainee. That appears to be the choice now.

Thank you all for your help. At least I have gone down from 3 choices to 2.

I will find a big coin & decide.....................

You can brag, you're in II...

...just ;) I'm still planning a route out of IV!
