what sort of general rule is their for upgrading your stadium?

Seats along the Sides, Benches Behind the goal ;o)

In my opinion, always try and build seats instead of benches as it wil save you money in the long run, as will upgrading as big and as early as possible, but only when cash allows ;o)

Standing places 1.20 £ 1.20 £
Standing places under roof 1.20 £ 1.20 £
Terraces 2.40 £ 2.40 £
Terraces under roof 3.00 £ 3.00 £
Benches 3.75 £ 3.75 £
Benches under roof 4.50 £ 3.75 £
Seats 4.50 £ 3.75 £
Seats under roof 5.25 £ 4.50 £

here are what guided me inititally

benches at the ends (including corners)
aim for seats along the sides when affordable

Don't break the bank for it - the payback time is very long
Only bother when filling what you have regularly

It costs £15k for building as a fee so don't do lots of little increases
forget about the roof until past at least 20k capacity

when ordering your increase put in the new total not the amount of increase required

Is it right it costs £15000 per section or can you do the whole lot at once?

£15k each time - surely you would've noticed as much? Seems you've wasted £90k needlessly. :-/

Only expand 1 stand at a time, rather than all of them.

Unlike Hattrick, you can't do a batch at a time. You have to pay the money for each part you expand.
Pretty annoying really, but that's what you get when the work experience lad codes the interface.

every little build costs £15000 as an admin fee. You should spend enough that this fee doesn't seem very important.
