Thyra7 [del] to All
After 4 seasons of non plus sokker, (I will buy a subscription if i win my playoff match to the 3rd Div this season) I am still muddled by my junior school. It has produced one of my best players, a very good keeper with some passing skill, and stamina, 20 yrs old, worth about 120,000. But my players have very rarely, if ever, popped. I now have a good trainee, with 31 weeks left at the school, my junior coach is solid. What should i be doing to get the most of my coach? And should I switch my Main coach, who is very good, to the juniors?

1) "Solid" junior school coach is pretty low, but I don`t know if you can afford better one or not. That`s the reason, why your players don`t pop very often.
2) I watched your main team players and they seem old. However I don´t know what/who are you training. Players are trainable when they are 16-25 years old. Btw can I see your main coach?

Good YS poppage for a solid coach is around 5 weeks. If you get anyone popping at that speed they are talented. I would ditch anyone over 7 weeks, but as Vilpu said, i would look at maybe investing in an excellent coach if you can afford it.

Again, as Vilpu has said, the average age of your squad is 25.5 which is seriously old for continuous training.

Unfortunately i simpy don't have the money for an excellent coach, I looked around and it seems it'll cost me on average 10k extra per week, currently im making 4k per week when playing away, and around 28-35k at home.

Thought so. I recommend reading the rules again - especially training & coaches part.

Head coach needs high single skills - magical - unearthly. If you want your main team players to improve, then fire this coach and hire someone who has 1-2 skills at least magical (that´s why, because you are playing in lower level). Other skills low ~weak. For example if you train passing, then your head coach should be at least magical in passing.

For junior and assistants coaches their overall skill is important.

edit: if you didn`t understand anything, then feel free to ask.
btw how money you have on your account?

At the moment, I only have 2000 pounds, but my income is usualy 35,000 per week so it shouldn't be a problem. I currently hold the highest bid for Carmine Filosa (http://online.sokker.org/trainer.php?trainerID=1502858) A good choice?

He is only good enough to be assistant or junior coach and for "excellent" his wage is ~25% higher, than normal.

What I would do is to start building your team from nil...Sell your oldies, buy 6 16-17y old striker trainees.

This is what I would do, but maybe some English manager have better ideas.

I would certainly get rid of your old duffers...and get a new a coach ASAP.

The problem is that i don't have the cash to buy good young players and not enough for decent coaches so I'll have to wait and see, winning my qualification match would help financially i guess?

In 9 days you`ll get seasonal bonuses, that might help you a bit.

If you`ll win your qualifier, then I guess first few weeks will be financially good for you. But I have a feeling your team isn`t good enough do play in division III. If you start losing there, then you might get less from your sponsors, than you got in div IV while leading it.

You don´t have to buy the best trainees you could get, just some decent ones, which you could sell in few seasons to make profit. Striker training should be the best for you imo.

first time i promoted i then got whipped all season. the first couple of weeks i got around 50k sponsorship, and even at the end when my fans were suicidle all the time i still got over 30k. the best i had in IV was 26k. the only time it really hurt was when i was elegated - my first week's sponsorship was only 18k.
