For assistant coaches, is it better to have all 3 at the same (or close) levels?

e.g.
A) 3 solids
B) 1 excellent, 2 adequates

which option would be better?

It is believed option A is better - although I don't know how that can be proven.

the theory (which makes sense) is simple maths...

Solid = 8 x 3 = 24
Excellent = 10 / Adequate = 6 ... 10 + 6 + 6 = 22

Solid = 8 x 3 = 24
Excellent = 10 / Adequate = 6 ... 10 + 6 + 6 = 22

and also

outstanding = 12 / adequte = 6 ... 12+6+6 = 24
but costs far more than 3 solids in wages

I was probably overanalysing, but I reckon the original question was meant to be along the lines of:

A: Solid, Solid and Solid
B: Excellent, Solid and Adequate

Both of which total 24. As Vancian points out, A will have a cheaper total wage, but which trains better? I believe A, and I've vague memories of reading similar opinions, but I don't know if it can be proven.

i'm inclined to think both would train the same but costs would be better for option A. happy to believe any evidence to the contrary
