Subject: Stadium Question
And i've just looked at nearly all II Series' stadia and everyone has built in every section position.
Why, when you can make 75p extra per ticket building seats along the sides (rooved)? What is it i don't know?!
edit: i think i've answered my own question in here somewhere. I guess i'm losing out from the 500 fans every week that are paying £1.20 to stand instead of £3.75 for a seat!
But i make that only £1275 per game, whereas i can offset that cost by building 1700 more seats on the sides than benches in the corner?
Someone help me out here! I'm confusing myself! It's not hard, no.
edit 2: i guess i should have read the rules, costs go up proportionately if you build one large stand, but by how much? There is no way i can test this, does anyone have any data?

You can test it.
Just simulate the cost of 5 or 10 expansions and you will draw conclusion very quickly.
You'll realise the cost of 1 bench is always the same, the cost of 1 seat is always the same... it's the the cost of going from standing to terraces that goes up proportionately... it worth doing because it goes against the general opinion.
I could paste my simulations here but they're all in excel in $AUS.
sk mail me your email I can sent it to you if you want to change the currency...

I think you'll find the bigger you build a stadium the more expensive it becomes too....I maybe wrong though.

Or £4.50 for a roofed seat.
I went through what you're deliberating very early on, and decided that if I was going to with a roof - I wanted all 8 sections filled in. I don't have any data, but the roof takes a long time to pay itself off, so I went for it asap. The trade-off was much less funds for players in the short and mid-term. I think I've just about got away with it, but I'd definitely have a stronger squad if I'd invested more in players. How much so is hard to say, but I'm pleased to have got the bulk stadium costs out of the way so I can concentrate on filling it again - hopefully whilst still in II.

The benifit isn't just the extra fans pay for standing under the roof. The effect of weather is MASSIVE. The fans aren't just scared of rain (which will scare most of the fans away). Even the mild sun will scare about 15% of the fans away if their is no roof. I can tell by looking at the attendance in my roofed stands vs my unroofed stands.
Agreed and with 5 of my 6 home games being rained on with the other cloudy, I have lost a lot of money this season in not having a roofed arena. :(
Probably the most lucrative thing is to build 100 roofed seats in the corners and at the ends and spend all the rest of your money on roofed seats along the line. Although the cost of building does rise at large sizes
I looked into the costs of building 1 big stand, & found it was cheaper to do smaller bits that gave the same capacity (& like for like seating/benches/terraces)
I don't remeber the savings, but it was very significent for my small budget

It is only the "expansion of terraces" bit that rises.
To expand my smallest stand by 1000 from 5666 costs £24k
The largest stand it costs £36K from 14000
So a 50% increase in cost although there are 3 other charges so the overall cost goes up far less

Absolutely agree. I'd do this if I started from scratch, instead of constructing the aesthetically pleasing marvel I have today.

Thanks Van Man, that's what i was after, very helpful and intuitive as normal.
As someone previously asked, why don't i test some of it out myself. Well, i can't can i if i don't already have a large stand already to upgrade, or am i missing something?
Might be nice for newbies (and established users by the looks of things) to make a little table about how much costs go up as the stadium size rises. Those that have large singular stands don't have to push through with the expansion, but they can at least find the costs i guess.
I think i might go with 100 rooved seats in all current standing areas, it sounds a good idea :o)

You can test when there's 100 standing and test building from there... You can use SV also and draw the equations... anyway I'll paste my tables here so it's clearer than words and will illustrate what you were asking, you guys will just have to work it out in £ :)
