Is it possible to play the long ball game as a tactic?

you can lay out a tactic to encourage it - and hire a keeper with good passing

What like set you defense line and forward line with a bit of distance between them? It's not my favourite style by any stretch but it could be a viable option if do-able. One concern is the offside doesn't seem very consistent but i suppose that would level itself out?

I suppose it would depend on your defender's passing or it could be a case of hit and hope. Abit like comparing Arsenal and Wimbledon in the 80s?

certainly a lot will depend on the pm and passing of whoever hits the ball forward

I believe it is best III guy plays worst Div IV - but I don't know the details

OH .. SO I must have been among the worst from Div IV seeded for playoffs; All this time I thought my team was decent
