ramer [del] to All
if i play a team miles better than me in a friendly, does it make a difference to anything else but the scoreline and the gate receipts (dependent on if at home or away)?

losing friendlies will reduce your ranking - this might lower your sponsor income a bit if you did it all the time.

does it also effect fan mood?? my fan mood soured after loosing a friendly.

fan mood yes, sponsors depends on how your opponent is ranked also. i played only big match friendlies the season before last, against II and Prem sides, and even though i kept losing my ranking and sponsorship kept increasing, as i guess i lost by less than expected

If you can play matches in big stadiums against well supported clubs - the financial gain from the match is well worth the defeat

I always tried to get £7k+ per friendly match as income - it makes a huge difference

yeah i am doing the same but no one wants to play against lil old me

anyone interested in giving me a friendly in a big stadium so i gain a lorra money? :P

I have decided not to join a friendly league this season, to help out some IV teams. Not sure how much cash i'll generate for you but my stadium isn't too bad for III! If you send me an invite for next week i will gladly accept.

I will play any Div IV team in every friendly
2009-02-14 20:33:11
or you could join wdp's league

No friendly League for me - ever

I just believe the new Managers need to find some good income from a friendly match every week

If all the best clubs are tied up in friendly League's - it just don't help the newer Managers improve (or in many cases - just survive) financially

That just cannot be right IMHO

you're a sweetheart aren't you ;^D

Not at all - I just want to support English teams as much as I can

My team was very reliant on friendly match income when I started Sokker - so I now want to try & help (as much as I can) any other Div IV English Manager progress within Sokker

Nothing wrong with that I hope?

Sensible of course ;o) wdp has been rather clumsy in getting some poor IV teams in to his friendly league. Not only will they get a spanking every week, they'll also hardly earn any cash!
