ramer [del] to All
I am thinking that in the future i may go on a long leave - and probably wont be able to use a computer for Sokker purposes. is there a way i could postpone my account and come back to it, say 6 months later?

or will my account be deleted?

can i therefore start again if it is deleted or is my name put on some list of 'people we dont want' etc

by the way, this doesnt mean i am going away now, but i might do in the future (career stuff)

I think there are ways to get around this, but you will have to speak to the sokker admin.

Yeah, i think they have employed a system called a sitter, where someone can log on on your behalf. There has been uproar over it though in terms of what the sitter can do in terms of setting up tactics and selling players etc, and i'm not sure how long they can do it for. An admin or mod should be able to help.

here are the rules -

Teams in Sokker are to be controlled by one user and not shared or logged into by other people
- In extreme situations where an owner is not able to log into their team for an extended period and a clear need for maintenance of the team (ie months for military service or hospitalization), admins may be contacted (admins@sokker.org) to make an exception to this rule for a specific period of time.
- In the case that an exception is made, the person "sitting" for the other user may ONLY set match orders (based on previously created tactics by the normal manager) and reject and pull juniors.
- The sitter cannot bid on or sell any player (except selling juniors), post or send any message, or make any action meant to harm or give advantage to any team.
- In the case that the owner is also the NT coach, the permission should be know publicly and may only include the actions needed to let the NT play their matches. Alternatively, admins could set up a new NT elections if necessary.
- The owner will have to change the password after he is back in control of the team.

I know, i know, i should have my priorities straightened :)

You might be pleasantly surprised at Internet access abroad - dylanos seems to log in from under-water these days.

true... currently in jo'burg so its easy, but i have found that Namibia & RSA have almost full ocverage for 3G. and there is always the local backpackers etc to use.

I have an old school friend in jo'burg. He built a 16th century style cob house in a downtown area there. I think he's running it as a b & b now. He's always been somewhat of an eccentric. Too many brains y'see. Double first from oxford.

Click on your username on your team page. Tick the "vacation" box. If you use that you get 100 days where you don't have to login although I'd assume you would lose your team at 101 days.

how much is that going to set you back? some of the pay-to-volunteer orgs are ok, but there are a lot of scams too - you do get the holiday etc but the purpose is often pure profit dressed up as development work. the conservation stuff looks ok though; its more the "community projects" stuff that tends to be dodgey
