ramer [del] to All
what typical level goalkeeper would you recommend for Division III? my goalkeeper is very good

and defenders? - i.e. defending skill
and midfielders? - playmaking
strikers?

Think we need a few IIIers or recently ex IIIers to answer this....i might be way off!

as far as keeper, I wouldn't be happy with less than formidable keeper with similar pace. There is a bit of leeway if they have extreme skills in either direction.

For a defender i wouldn't be too happy if they were less than formidable def, again with similar pace. High pace defenders with slightly lower def skill could work though.

Midfielders are a different kettle of fish. If you have a defensive mid, i would be open to having low PM skill (v.good) and excellent or so defending. Combine this with ~v.good+ passing and pace.

for your more wing oriented midfielder, i would suggest that defending you can life without but you will definitly need v.good pm, excellent+ pace, excellent+ passing and hopefully some tech.

For strikers i would be looking at either High pace (outstanding+) combined with a decent striker skill (excellent+), or a high tech player (formidable+) combined with a little bit of pace but would suggest a formidable+ striker skill.

I think that is for a side that would be looking to compete at the higher end of the III..

Depending on the league you would get into, requirements can alter drastically. One thing I will add is that form on a striker that you purchase is very important, a very good striker with high pace and divine form would stand a great chance over an outstanding striker in worthless form.

I think you can afford to aim slightly lower... most of my players are lower than the suggested above, although I would prioritise on a striker.

I found that you need someone as good as possible to bang in the goals, and get you those vital points to survive

Although oxolotl has much more experience than I do, so would probably be better to listen to him! lol

Defender:
Defender Excellent +
Pace : formidable+
Tech : Very good+

Def Mid:
Tech : excellent+
Passing solid+
playmaking average+
pace : very good
def : very good

central Mid:
Tech : solid
Passing adeqaute
playmaking excellent
pace : very good
def : solid

wing Mid:
Tech : excellent
Passing good
playmaking formdiable
pace : formidable

striker:
Attack : formidable
Tech : very good
pace : formidable
def : good

Having said all that, tactics are your friend too.

Well as i said, i've been at the higher end of the game for a long time so better to get your experiences than mine at them moment :)

I agree on striker though, getting a quality one can rip your opponent to shreds in div III

From my personal experiences, being a relative newbie is that you don't need as good players as you think, especially with right tactics. I managed to promote to II with just a very good keeper, formidable/outstanding def's, excellent/formidable mid's and an excellent striker (2x incredible pace and tech).

i would focus on the attack, if you have people who can score in III more than half the job is done, striking skill is not even the most important, pace is and then tech imho

goalkeeper skill is obviously very dependent on opposition striker skill.

very good/excellent seemed very nice to me until my opponents went out and bought incredible strikers and then an upgrade became essential.

basically find out the striker skill of your opponent and try to be within 2ish skills to avoid embarresment. If you exceed their skill by 2-3 then you will block them out more often.Trying to exceed their level by more is probably bad value for money
