Hello,

I know Im not a newb by any means, but after four or five seasons I still have to ask - Are you guys sure juniors squads are worth it? I mean I have been doing a great job weeding out the poor players, but I still find I am spending about a million dollars a season on juniors via coach and 30 juniors weekly, and I just dont think I am getting a million dollars of value a season back.

cut back to like 10 juniors? Much easier to manage I think.

That would mean 800,000 dollar investment with only 1/3rd the ROI. Nope. What I think I will do is instead of keeping juniors that come out to very goods keep only excellents+ and maybe, maybe reduce my junior coach to a 25k wager instead of my 40k one. Thing is though, one 8 million dollar youth and I am in the way profits.

I spend a ton on Juniors, and I'm not sure I'm getting my money back, but I don't really care. Originally I just wanted to help cretae the most top level US players as possible. I've had some good ones. There is another thing to consider besides the jackpot one time pulls. That is all the talented very-good to formidable guys that don't initially get you that much money. They are the gift that keeps on giving though as they get sold over their careers . I'm always getting surprise revenues from an old junior player that was sold by some other team. Sometimes it's 100K or more.

So, spread your sokker seed, and create as many good juniors as you can. They don't have to be super studs. Eventually they will turn into decent players if trained right, sombody will sell them, and you'll get money.

Really? Sometimes 100k or more?! OK I did not know that. You sold me. Im keeping my juniors at full capacity.
2008-11-05 04:54:51
yea. Everytime a junior that came out of your school that you sold is sold again, you get some profit for him being sold again

YS --> TL --> new team --> new team places on TL --> player transferred = $$$ for you.

I forget what age that stops? or does it?

Placing a player up for sale involves a transfer fee that is a fraction of the starting price. After the transfer, the seller has to pay tax of 4% on the received price. If the player is not originally from your team and is aged 23 or under, then a further 5% of the received price will go to his original club.

from the rules...

thanks pal!

This guy was sold for 2.6 mil back in september:

"Club received 130 050 $ from transfer of junior Chance Kenton."

I guess he was under 23 at the time. I didn't know you quit getting $$$ after 23. Bummer. It's still worth it in my opinion to pour money into juniors, but that is how I like to play the game.
2008-11-05 17:07:58
i made more than you off that particular sale :)
2008-11-05 17:12:47
I'm just happy to pick up the scraps. You should be getting a Christmas card in a few weeks. :)
2008-11-05 17:22:46
he was crappy talent too.
2008-11-05 17:27:52
Are you joking? I think I remember you weren't super excited with buying him, but he was a good talent. My records show he came out brillliant with 3.5 talent. i'd be curious to see if that didn't play out in actual training on your team.
2008-11-05 21:08:48

Ah thanks. I feel better now. Question about GTF. Does it factor in (or out) injury time? I mean will a lot of injuries tend to increse the GTF because they aren't triaining and popping?
2008-11-05 21:37:29
wat is GTF?
