Subject: Insane or mad or pointless tactics threa

2005-11-01 20:11:39
Ever played any really odd tactics? None of your 352 etc, I'm talking about tactics that lack anything standard about them.

Thought it might be interesting to see them, and see what can be learnt from them.

Only done one so far:

Self explanatory, in this one every player always chased after the ball. Didn't work too bad but fell apart in the second half due to overall poor stamina (would be interesting to see it with all players with formid stamina).

Tomorrow I'm going to try the gauntlet. I'll have my players in one continuous line down the middle of the pitch, and they'll only move when the ball comes into their row.

Haha, sounds like fun. I'm game for a laugh. I'll try something interesting tomorrow (and get slaughtered in the process).

You are odd...

it will be a nice try :)
Be sure that somebody will be watching it :)

I haven't tried any of "insane tactics" - for me it's enough to check if others succeeded, check the score and then.. use their experience or remember "do not do that" ;P

Sometimes it's the stupid things you learn from though. Never know, it might actually work :).

your thinking of some.... nasty offsides ? :)
Well.... it could work...

But could also fail .. I wonder what happens if you play like that against the opponent with very fast strikers :PPP

Any player remotely quick would be enough to destroy it. Especially as my reserves in general have a fair bit less pace than my first team.

:))) I think I'll have to try it by myself some day :)

I played the ultimate Christmas tree formation today. One big triangle of players who never move unless the ball gets near them.

It failed miserably. Might have been more successful if everyone is pushed forward a square or 2.

LOL :D

Well, my game finished in a 6-0 loss.

Your game was harsh :(

the better has won ... unfortunately :(

I watched it live and he wasn't better actually. He just scored every time when he had a chance...

I think I'm going to try an extreme counter attacking formation next week, with no midfield, 3 up front and 7 at the back (2 set as mids).
