It really depends on what your current coaching staff is earning. That is the major drain on your finances.

I don't think you've played a home league match yet - so you don't really have an idea what income you'll get there. Economic update is Saturday, which will give you a little idea what your sponsors will provide.

It costs 1 000 $ for each youth position you maintain. You can't add any more then 6 youth per week (so 6 spots at max). As soon as you have youth you think are worthwhile, you'll have to hire a youth coach.

If I were you I'd probably open 3-4 spots, and hope for something promising. So long as your coaches aren't too extravagant.

You're in Ontario - so Sokker time is 6 hours ahead of us.

I'm spending roughly 8 500 C$ for two very good coaches (one youth, one assistant), 5 900 C$ for a solid assistant, 5 000 C$ for a good assistant and 9 500 C$ for my main coach who's training pace. Is this too much? Also is it worth it to have a youth program with a VG coach?

"Also is it worth it to have a youth program with a VG coach? "
I got my best player (Caron) with a exc coach.

The answer is sometimes if the player is really talented and really young when you pull him out is worth to have a youth program. I would try with a few (3~10, remember don't open more than 6 every week) and checking the talent.

Your coaching staff sounds quite reasonable. :) I can't remember finances for a club of your maturity - so long as you aren't losing money every two weeks, you're in good shape.

A very good youth coach is fine. I had an excellent for quite some time, and like Yosarian, produced some nice prospects.

Edit: should have said the VG coach is "fine for now". It is something you will want to upgrade as your team matures.

How do I know if I am up for auto-promotion or not?

BTW won my first game against a bot :D

There is a thread, 'promotions" in the Canada sokker forum. I dont see your team name, but it looks like you took over very recently. The top 25% of first place teams in division iii autopromote - it looks like, with 38 points that would include you. I will try to confirm this by looking at the tables.

It looks like you do not have enough points to autopromote. You should see a qualification match scheduled tomorrow to take place next Sunday. (You may not want to promote right away - let your team get established a bit)

Thanks, I know I don't want to promote thats why I was asking.

Does overtime count towards training or just the 90 minutes??

Overtime doesn't count.

Does the stadium maintenance cost go up after a roof addition?
2008-05-17 02:59:27
nope. from the rules..."Weekly stadium`s maintenance expenses (1 place): 1.20 C $" that is exactly what I pay

this means that you are paying that for any and every space - so it is no use to have lots of terraces, or terraces at all. it is best to have the most expensive seating - I think that the best stadium is all seating under roofs
2008-05-17 17:08:02
but who the hell is cleaning all the leaves from the roof?? :))

Where is your stadium? in the forest? With the wind around here there are absolutely no leaf worries. The work is picking up the beer glasses.
