Subject: Looking at a player

I'm still training pace next season and looking to pick up a good young defender or two. What's a fellow like Heinz Engert, say, worth? He's for sale for 80 000 C$; I can now afford that, but I don't want to get completely ripped off (-:

You could probably find something a little better, little older mind you:

Valentin Vanden Borre
poor stamina tragic keeper
tragic pace solid defender
weak technique poor playmaker
solid passing hopeless striker

i think his choise is better. this guy has no pace or tech, and while passing is an asset, tech i would say is more iomportant for a defender. sure stamina is easy to train but the other guy is all around beter for a defender's role. But i do like this guy as a possible mid fielder if you can train up his playmaking, and pace... his tech could use work too though....

true... he is significantly cheaper... i dunno, you are probably right. I've only been playing for just under a season. I did ahve a pleasant experience with this 31 year old spanish defender i bought at the beginning of the seaosn thoguhg. Got him for 4k, his stamina went from solid to excellent or formidable and he sold for 10k... i was happy =)
