Mangus [del] to All
I've just started playing recently (yesterday), and have been reading as much as possible in Rules, and the Forums to get adjusted to the game, but I'm still having difficulty with Tactics. every time I change my game tactics, and save, I guess a message telling me that I can't change them. I've created two of my own tactics, but the game does not recognize either. Am I supposed to be a "plus" member to be allowed to do this or am I doing something wrong?

Looking forward to my first match this weekend...thanks.

Ah yes. Tactics. Once you figure them out, they're the best part of Sokker.

Creating your own tactic and saving it is the first step. Then you have to figure out how the heck to edit them. Here's how.

The trick is that you can move the ball in the tactic editor. Just click on the ball and drag it around the pitch; you'll see the outfielders move around as you move the ball. The pitch is 5 ball-positions wide by 7 ball-positions deep, and for each of the 35 ball positions, you can position all ten outfielders where you want them. So, move the ball, position your outfielders, move the ball again, position your outfielders again, and so on. It takes a bit of time and effort, but it also allows you a great deal of control over where your players will be.

If you only move the players and not the ball, then all you've done is to assign new positions for the players when the ball is in the centre of the pitch, but for the remaining 34 positions, your players will behave as they did in the original tactic (that your tactic was based on).

Does that help?

Yes it does.

Thank you for the reply, and the helpful information.

I'm bumping this as a I notice a lot of new users still use default tactics. Default tactics are crap....don't use them!!!! One of great things about this game is the tactical grid and the freedom of tactic movement......

Hey when I try to save my tactic, it says "tactic cannot be saved"

Why is that?

I think you are trying to edit the basic tactics. You have to go to the bottom and click 'create tactic based on 541'(or any one, that's just an example), name it, click 'create' and then click on it and you can edit it and save it.

Yeah I figured out what I was doing it wrong. I had it already saved, it's just I wanted to apply it to match orders but I was on the wrong screen. Ah, finally figured it out lol.
