i just started a junior school this saturday and i got two players, both tragic, but one had 29 weeks left so i kept him. Today, he has jumped all the way to good. Is that normal?and i thought the ratings only changed thursday for juniors?
Someone once said that the level you see Saturday and early Sunday is the real level. And the level after the Sunday update is the level modified by the coach. If that is correct your junior is tragic, but the coach (who probably is quite low) see him as good.
oh, i thought i had something special there :(
thanks anyways :)
btw my junior coach is very good

I have small changes going up and down sometimes and my coach is magical.
I would keep players from average (or weak) and only if they look talented (difficult to say with your coach, but not impossible).
Good luck with the youths and if you have questions ask.

you probably didn't have coach for the school on Saturday and nobody can evaluate them. So they are showed as tragic. They probably are better.
aha i wish that was true. i did have a coach when i got him though

You may want to keep your eyes open on the transfer list for a better junior coach. I'd aim for formidable, or an ultra-cheap outstanding.
If you're patient, you should be able to get a formidable coach with weekly wage less than 11 250 $, and after skill level, this is by far a coach's most important stat. It's a lot of money, but think of it as being about 6 training slots more expensive than your current coach, so you can pay for it by being pickier with the trainees you keep.
Do some transfer-list searches at each skill level to get some idea of prices. Then make lowball bids, especially in the evening when the Polish players are asleep (-:, and be patient. Even if you only keep him for a season or two and then upgrade to an incredible-to-brilliant junior coach like I did, keeping the wages low is critical.

it's better to close the school. your team can not sustain the expenses for it. open it in 2-3 seasons when you can pay a brilliant coach
I respectfully disagree. I started my training school the first week I could, and I'm very happy with that decision.
I started the school when I started the game, and I got quite a few nice trainess.
A formidable coach is not going to let you have magical youth but with some luck you can get a oustanding youth that is quite nice for training (Barrera, Caron, MacMillan were not magical)

I just look in my database
Ashley was formidable junior (he made it to the U21 NT)
Zaharija was formidable junior (he is in the U21 NT)
That gives you and idea that is possible to have nice players without need of a magical coach, but try to keep the talented ones only.
