I think your MIDs are too weak to just play 2
And your DEF have really horrible form

Not much you can do about form but like 4 out of 5 defenders are weak or lower will cause problems

I didn't get a chance to look at the game but I'd adjust to play a 5-3-2 or even 5-4-1 if you want to just concede less goals

Subaru has a good team though so you gotta gauge the opponent as well. Focus on the games with weaker teams to adjust tactics.

I'm not a tactician but some advice was try to keep defenders in a line and tighter together. And if your defenders are slower (formidable pace or less) you could play them deeper to not get caught by pacey a ATT. But you gotta watch a couple games and just keep making adjustments.

Keep at it :)

If I play a 5-3-2 or a 5-4-1, How will I score? I was running a 4-4-2 system that is very deep, not to concede goals, and struggled to make chances. Do I have to just tie every game not to get relegated?

No I'm saying against tougher opposition like Subaru you'd look to defend and probably won't be able to win so don't focus on ATT in those games.

But against similar opposition you can try 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. And 5-3-2 can still be good for ATT

I only recently started playing 5-2-3 because I got some stronger mids

It takes time to learn the game so keep making those tweaks. I played from 2008/09 to 2011 and now 2021-2024+. It's a game that does take probably 2-3 years of real life to get comfortable. But you'll learn from mistakes too.

Also if you can watch some 2d matches to get some ideas how different teams play tactics.

And notice which of your players are playing good or weak. Maybe switch their positions to see if they improve.

It's a tough task too but I would probably slowly replace any players that stay tragic for a while. Unfortunately sometimes they'll stay tragic or low form and just hurt your overall performance
