Subject: Questions thread

2009-11-16 11:45:49
you were missing 2 players, either because of injury, red card suspension or not selecting them ;)
2009-11-16 11:46:24
but only 9 players !! maybe forgot to press the save button after setting the tactic ??
2009-11-16 13:18:40
make sure and train stamina now aswell, as that is the only way you will get training (players dont play they dont get training, unless you are training stamina, then it doesnt matter)
2009-11-28 10:22:12
Yes, I'm training stamina, and when everybody is near excellent, than I'll train pace.

I finally made a tactic, its a bit defensive, but thats just right for tomorrows match, agains some brute team, I can't imagine how they got this good, but its kinda no chance against them... Never mind, I might be second this year, and thats not a bad start. :)

Will somebody please look at my tactic tomorrow, and say his opinion?

Thanks. :)

Ohh, and another thing: I still have 166 335 € left, so I think I'll still buy somebody, around 100k €, maybe a decent striker, so at least I can shoot some goals.

Last thing: I lost 17-0 last wednesday, how can I avoid that? :( It was bad to watch... :(

I'd pull your wing-backs back into line with tthe rest of your defence for a start, There's not much advantage in pushing them high. To be fair, there was a 20 point gap between your team and theirs, 17:0 was kinda of to be expected. You'll just need to train and buy better players over the next few seasons

Don't worry too much about friendly results as long as your fan mood doesn't drop too much. As for spending your cash I'd hold off on any big purchases for the moment. If I were you I'd continue picking up any bargains you find for 10-20k- keep an eye on the Irish Transfers forum where you'll be able to know the talent of any prospective buys and make buying them a little less risky. If you are planning on spending big ask a question here and somebody should be around to advise you on how much you should pay.

just focus on league results.. training is all friendlies are for really.. though id try and get easier teams who are also new ;)
and a 20 mark gap.. definately 17-0 result, you cant tackle players of those skills even probably :)

ill give a look at tactic on monday possibly

i aggree, look for bargains at strange hours, like 4-7 in the morning, if you happen to be still awake ;-)

and yeah a decent striker is essentiall, although i managed without one in the beginning, but worked with a strong 5 man defense and hoped for lucky shots and counters... but defenders and strikers are the most important imo for the beginning.

go for pace trainees, or 23-25 year olds who can still gain 1 or 2 levels and get some random pops.

there are usually very few players onsale at those times.. i prefer weekday during school hours as such... can get good bargains around midday

Sooo...

I played my first match when I set a tactic, and it was wonderful :)

This snowbuddies, who won always five goals ore more only managed to shoot 2, whats pretty good going I think, altough his stikers where totally unstoppable and my striker didn't really manage to get away but altogether I think this was good, for the first try. :)

I thought that if I'd have a better sriker and my defenders will get trained I could even win this leago, next season. This season I only ended third, if I got it right.

And if somebody can tell his opinion I'd be really grateful, maybe its just me being so optimistic, and my tactic is crap or I dunno...

I'll try andd have a look after top gear- I've had a quick look and it seems on the surface you've done very well for a first try. Like you said snowbodies are much better than you so to hold them to two goals was a good result :)
2009-11-29 22:55:12
snowbuddies have been the strongest team in second division this season, so thats a great result ;)

I just watched it and you got all the basics right- the 5 in a line across the back being the most important one. There were a few times where your midfield 4 weren't quite right which you probably saw yourself- it's what contributed to your striker being a bit isolated at times. For your next effort try something new in midfield to see if you can improve things slightly. Two examples would be to either try a midfield diamond or an attacking winger. With the diamond you'd get a player a bit closer to your striker so the ball wouldn't go straight to him every time. The twop players at the sides of the diamond could help defensively as well as when attacking to give you a bit more balance there. You'd lose a bit in terms of defence on the wing but with a back 5 you'll still have cover. Playing an attacking winger would be the other option- the only problem is that you might not have a player good enough to be effective at that yet.

Have a go and see how you get on - the great thing about the match viewer is that you can see exactly how your tactics work and adapt them to make them better. Don't worry too much that your players can't pass or tackle much yet :) - as you can see just by having a better formation can improve things by huge margins.

Your assessment on what you need to improve is about right- a striker will improve your team a lot- just don't spend too much :) Training wise pace will give you improvements in every position and you wouldn't have to mees around with deciding who your best 10 players were. Pick up enough players to fill the 22 training slots that pace training gives you and work away :)

Wow, thanks for all this help, I'm trying to understand it first, but then I'll try and do it as well.

Yesterdays match was a big result for me, I think according to statistics I was lucky to draw, but still achieving a 1-1 agains an opponent like that is something.

The only change I did to my tactics was that I pulled the defenders one "block" back, because agains snowbuddies the strikers always tackled my defs, whats kinda stupid, so to avoid that I made this improvement.

I signed a trainee here he is:

Murray McDermott, age: 51

wage: 5 250 €
club: Easy Win FC, country: Ireland
very good coach

And I'm trying to buy a striker and I have to versions, one is either old but good and the other is young and trainable.

I thought I'll try and keep it under 200k, thats the maximum I can afford, but I'd need those goals for the next season :)

Oh, and these are the skills I'm looking for:
Old: Everything over formidable, and not over 28-29.
Young: Under 23, and technique and striker over excellent.

Actually so far no success, I keep forgetting these odd times when they expire. :)

you wont get over formiddable for that money :)

3x very good maybe..
id go with older guy if you have a good few other trianees already... 7 or 8 is sufficient

you have a season bonus coming soon too (fanclub members rebuy tickets = 125 euro per fan) and sponsorship * 1.5
2009-12-03 19:52:27
That bonus sounds really good, I'll have more money afterwards for sure :)

Well I hope I'll get something decent, doing my best and hoping to make a bargain. :)
