Even if Nin were mod he couldn't do anything more for the recruiting since admins are responsible for adding the new teams.

Additionally a country gets a new mod when there are about 300 managers. Moreover are there many English speaking mods around, guess there's no need for another one atm as far as I can see that.
Mods are here to "keep the forum clean", and in Ireland it's not like there is a huge amount of illegal posts in the forums.

L stands for linguist. They're translating the news and some other things but don't have any other powers.

well in terms of new users, those guys who registered are there ages. and if you have ever signed up to a MMO game, you know if you have to wait more than a day or 2 you will just forget about it

Yep, sure, agree with you. Ireland isn't the only country which have these kinda "problems".
Well, some mods now make some pressure, I saw that the last time Irish user were accepted was on January 18th, and that's totally inaccepable! :-(

I think every country needs at least 1 user with the communities interests at heart to run it. This 300 users thing is a nonsense because how are we going to hit 300 when we're not able to bring new people in?

perfectly acceptable argument there man. anyways geg mat, i know you cant do anything...i might ditch myt clubs imagery at some stage and see whati can do about getting it.. not till european summer though..not sure what im going to be at here for the time being..
with the "recession",i cant see people not being sucked into online games.. especially ones where you are immediately in an irish userbase...

Well, I guess there are two different things which shouldn't be mixed.
A mod isn't responsible for the whole recruiting and accepting stuff, a mod is only responsible for the different forums.
I also think a mod doesn't have any influence on the number of managers who're playing, or only indirect by keeping the forum clean and therefore helping new users to get into it.

I don't see any problems with that in Ireland, you guys take care of the forum and as soon as somebody needs help a couple of experienced managers are trying to help.


What we could talk about is the whole promoting stuff, which means getting access to the linguist forum and doing some things there (I'm not really in to it what promotors have to do ... :-().
Wait a sec, I'm trying to find where the description is and will post it in Sokker Ireland, if you are somebody else is interested it might be possible to get a promotor.

I'm not sure how much promoting we can do short of printing flyers and passing them around colleges and universities. We've got an advert on the biggest Ireland forum there is and we've picked up quite a few people from that. The problem is they're not getting passed anywhere near fast enough.

They will get language rights and access to linquists forum. They would search for forums, add prepared texts in catalogues, edit the text for their language or to improve its interest to people from their country, etc.

I think greg also gives you some hints where to advertise in order to get Sokker to the first page of the google search engine and so on.
I'm sorry I can't give any better information, I'm just not into it ... :-(

But if you, kenyard or shane is interested just tell me, I'd try to get one of you the promoting rights ...

And to be honest i'm not keen on putting in anymore effort recruiting until that problem is fixed. We brought in 40 new members in the space of a couple of weeks and 95% of them never signed in because they were so slow to be accepted. You should never have to wait more than 48 hours

agreed.48 hours is even too much. irish people have short attention spans for anything other than beer and tv.

I think i've pissed off the devs again. I have a suspicion admin Nivu just resigned because of something i said as well.

meh..cant see it being related.. its basically common knowledge that admins and greg ignore the forum discussions about anything that the community might consider important

Completely disagree with you.
Surely, greg isn't interested in the forums, but that's ok. It's not his job to do that (apart from the Bug & Ideas forum). He's dev, he has enough other things to do.

Admins are also not responsible for the forums, that's the mod-job.

So they don't ignore the discussions, they just don't read it because it would be too much.
Same for me btw, I'm not reading every post in Sokker International, I simply don't have the time to read everything.

yeah but surely a random click will show the main topics of discussion.. you do have a point there though..
and i guess a lot of the polish admins stick to polish forums and not international also...
its kind of limits the influence of people outside poland i guess..

since Nin opened that topic, irelands application list hasnt been checked even though... and that was a few days ago, and 3 people were on the list when he wrote it i think...

Yeah i'm watching them. 1 applied late on Sunday i think. The speed they're accepted is reliant on them clicking the confirmation email i'm told.
