Subject: Stadium size

Right well i have some rules i follow for my stadium size.. just figured this is a good place to have them

stadium size should be ~ 15 x fanclub number.

i.e i have a fanclub of 1183 = 15 x 1 183 ~ 18 000 places. I filled 17 700 against the main teams all last season.

What i am wondering is, against the weaker team i didnt fill it, i only got say 9 000 people (their fanclub and rank are very poor)
the problem i had was that i have 6k seats and they basically filled. so i had 3k in seats. which gave me a dramatically lower income than i should have got.

would it be better to just build seats along the side of the pitch>?
i figure if i do that i get E7.5 per seat and the same attendance..

I can adjust the poll as necessary to include peoples suggestions. am thinking i should go international with this question..

There are a few ways to do it. It's basically not worth putting seats behind the goal unless you've got a roof, I've ignored that this season and built the stadium with a plan to add a roof in the future.
If i could go back to when i started this game i would have created a small roofed and seated area behind the goal, simply because it's easier to expand as suited instead of waiting until you have a big stadium and it costs you 1mil to add a roof. I wouldn't bother at all with benches, especially not as you're in a decent league and it'll cost you to upgrade.
Best to focus on the main stands anyway and i'd say roof them as early as possible.

if you roof them, u cant expand without massive cost do.. demolition of roof etc.. or can you expand an alreaxy built roof?

you can expand it yes, but the upgrade has to have a roof ;)

i dont know about going from roofed benches to roofed seats, im assuming thats also just expansion, that you dont have to rebuild the roof.

to clarify with 2 examples.
i have 10000 seats only. if i expand to 10000 seats with roof, i only pay for the roof expansion = 1M euro (roof = 100 euro per place 10k seats x 100 = 1M). (plus project execution each time = 25k)

In another stand
i have 5000 seats with roof. If i expand them to 10000 seats with roof, i pay for 5000 new seats and 500 000 $ for the roof to cover the new seats.
IF i expand to only 10k seats with no roof, then i pay to demolish the current existing roof. (25 000 $) so nothing serious. but saves me ~475000 on not expanding more roof, but gets lower income on tickets, and in rain weather there is less attendance
