I will now write using the english language, because my skills in the spanish language are not perfect and also because I am fluent in english.
Also, the reason is because I want to be as clear as possible in my words. So, if you are from Cuba and do not talk in english, this text will be easy to understand after using a translator because I watch word by word to do not make too much mistakes.
Well... the reason to I write an article on the Cuban forum it was thanks to a request from Alienomo, he watch my video talking about the U21 World Cup Final that happened last season, he told me that wanna understand more the video but since he do not understand well people talking in english, he ask me to write something and since some users from Cuba that watch it the video, asking me to explain Alienomo's formation, I think... why not talking about the formation in the Cuban forum, so everyone can understand well the concept and maybe will try it in your club or even focus in train specific skills for your Cuban players looking to make Alienomo extract the best of his tactics.
So, let's start talking about these tactics... Probably what impressed a large part of this game's community was that Cuba used several factors that had never been used before to be able to win its games, first one was that Cuba in home matches always use a stadium with different pitch measures from the default one that Sokker Manager send it, (Cuba using in his home matches the smallest pitch measures in the game), and second one and more important, how Cuba playing in these matches and still playing until today, a formation that other countries already create your own versions (even myself when I was coach in France make my own versions and quite like it) and these formation was...
The 4-3-3 using a False 9 (O mejor dicho... el 4-3-3 usando un falso 9)
Alienomo charmed a lot of people in the last edition of the U21 World Cup (I'm one of those people), because of a different tactical formation a little bit from the old patterns of this game.
A 4-3-3 that instead of 3 pure strikers, it have a midfielder in the centre acting also as a forward.
And also, apart from this midfielder doing such a function, his 2 strikers acting as a sort of inverted wingers which is very normal to see this in real life modern football.
PS: If you do not know what is a inverted winger, If a left-footed wide player plays on the right wing, or a right-footed player plays on the left wing, he is described as an inverted winger in real-life football.
For example, Bayern Munich in 2013 has Frank Ribery (right‑footed player on the left wing) and Arjen Robben (left-footed player on the right wing) excelling in these positions. A inverted winger basically makes movements cutting inside.
A example of movements doing by a inverted winger, usually is diagonal movments starting from the side of the field to the centre.
Of course, trying to explain all the movement of Alienomo's tactics, only Alienomo himself could explain, after all, you never know more about something than initially the person who created the concept, but let's try here to try to think and show why certain movements were created.
First of all... Alienomo does not using only 1 tactic in his matches, he uses 2 tactics.
I've always noticed something like this happening, but after watching so many Cuba matches, I can see more clearly today that he is using different tactics at the same time.
But as we can see it, he do not could change it all the time since he can just change his formations 4 times in a match, But these 2 tactics stay in the match after a certain time regardless of the result.
Alienomo likes to use:
A Diamond 4-4-2.
And my favorite formation that I wanna talk more, the 4-3-3 using a False 9 in the centre.
The focus is to talk about the most important parts of both formations that I think are crucial for this formation to work.
Before, I believe that the reason for Alienomo to use these 2 tactics is to try to explore all the spaces that are possible for your opponent because if the opponent focuses too much on just a certain tactic, he can end up leaving a lot of space for the other and so on.
These concept of using 2 tactics at same time in a game to be honest is not something new (at least for me), I using a lot this concept years ago when I became U21 coach in Poland, I think it's a very good strategy because it doesn't limit you to attacking your opponent just one way, but it's sad that there are many people in the game who think that's something bad, limiting themselves in this game.
Now with our tactics editor here to explain both, basically what changes a lot in both formations is the movement of number 10, 1st tactic editor we can see that when the formation is a Diamond 4-4-2, the number 10 comes back much more looking to be an extra support in defense.
It is also worth remembering that this can make number 10 get rid of possible offsides if the opponent tries to play with a high block defense line.
Also note that the strikers are more centralized, playing more of a 4-4-2 role.
With the 4-3-3, the number 10 remains in position and the strikers acting more in the half-winger like inverted wingers.
It's not easy to explain all the positioning made by Alienomo (as I said, only he can do this himself because I don't know how he 100% positions his tactics). But in both formations, the number 10 still has very important roles as a playmaker, being the player who moves the most in the field.
Especially in plays that happen in the sides, like this throw-in, the number 10 that is in this red circle, doesn't keep the position to be a passing option. Basically, he moves according to the ball and sometimes even maintains position to be a free option, he do not act as a pure forward.
A good example of the number 10 maintain his position is in this throw-in made it by the opponent, the 2 centre-midfielders (number 7 and number 8), are more in front and the number 10 are behind keeping position and being a option to cover the space or to recieve a pass if necessary.
And strikers being inverted wingers makes their could appear complety free in the box or when playing aginst teams that using a high block defense line, win a battle against the side defender and running with the ball as a inverted winger cutting inside and having a chance to shoot.
Also, when the number 10 have the ball in the centre, he can broke very well the defense since he is a midfielder, so he can pass the ball in situations that the opponent maybe will do not expect and that could result in a easy goal.
But, to play in a such formation, how is more apropriated to be these players?
The 2 centre-midfielders that also help the team in the attack, need to be players with a decent level of passing/playmaker and if they have also decent defensive skills will be very interesting since they are box-to-box players, they need to acting also in the defense, so if they could steal easily the ball from the opponent, is a good chance to we see they start a effective counter-attack.
Number 10 needs to be a quick player, because he is also a box-to-box player specially when Cuba play in a Diamond 4-4-2, so he needs to have the speed to cover the spaces and also to acting as a extra striker if necessary, of course that we cannot forget skills such as technique, passing and playmaker, and even defense and striker, the more complete the player, the better he will fit the position.
Strikers needs to be quicker with a high level of technique, the reason is specially when they acting in the 4-3-3, they became inverted wingers, so they need to run diagonally, the more quicker and technical they can be, the more effective they will acting in this specific role, of course a striking skill is important, but I think to make such a role, pace and technique are the focus and if they have some extra skill, defense or playmaking could be very interesting.
Also, the concept open ideas for a lot of variations, a variation that I made in France it have the 2 good parts of both formations, because when my team attack, was a 4-3-3 shape, defending, the number 10 acting more as a midfielder, going back and making the formation create a shape of a 4-4-2. Creating numerical superiority in the defense, but also creating different variations in attack. And different from Alienomo, I try to make my players maintain more the position, so happen that when the ball was in the right side for example, since my left striker was maintain position in the left, the midfielder gives a diagonal pass to him that was tottally free and he could have a chance to score against the keeper since no one was covering that space.
And it doesn't necessarily have to be 2 strikers, it's possible to be a formation for example like this:
-MID----ATT----MID-
---MID--------MID---
---------MID---------
-DEF-DEF-DEF-DEF-
Or like this:
-ATT----MID----MID-
---MID--------MID---
---------MID---------
-DEF-DEF-DEF-DEF-
Or... like this:
-MID----MID----MID-
---MID--------MID---
---------DEF---------
-DEF-DEF-DEF-DEF-
Of course, the DEF, MID, ATT order will act better or not depeding how good is your players, how good is your opponent and also how is the formations your opponent use.
I've noticed other countries using similar formations, Finland for example made their version but using 2 defensive midfielders, I have my example with France, Italy also using something similar and I believe other countries will start to use another variations since is a new tendency in the U21 scenario.
Or even the evolution of this formation to something that uses similar concepts, but in a different way.
Regardless of what happens in the future, do like Alienomo and don't limit yourself like people that believes that exist a perfect tactic in the game.
Because this do not exist! :)
What exists is for the coach to seek to do something efficient according to the options he has at hand.
I hope my text has been of great help, good luck to all Cubans in the game!

Wonderful analysis, I'm sure Alienomo feels flattered by so much attention.
His alien mind is capable of analyzing and calculating any situation with clarity.
